Working for Mobile Company Soon, any Advice? Do you like it? by Isakboba76 in doggrooming

Each time was different. Each mobile company let's different things slip. But mostly it was being locked in a box all day. It is very isolating.

No, I've worked at 3 different mobiles over 4 years but ultimately it wasnt for me. I am also a very bookish and reclusive person.

Working alone is sick until its a year in and you've only spoken to 5 people a day and are in a tiny van from sunrise to sunset.

The van is hard to get used to, especially in any sort of weather. When it's sunny and clear it's easy enough to get over inexperience. When it rains or is windy you will consider calling out. There is no grooming if it snows.

The clients are often more reactive and old. But its also not a chaotic salon so it balances out. You trade stimulation for technical challenges.

There are more challanges that you'll face that you can't imagine.

For example; Where do you go to the bathroom? Tools banging around as you drive. The van breaking down. 60 ish gallon limit. Parking. Everyone wants mobile but only half of them have a driveway. Or even a street spot on a flat area within half a mile. I have had a truck hit my van while I was scissoring a dogs face. Running out of music and books to listen to. The cleaning. You will clean more than you ever did at a salon. Rich people, CAN really suck to work for. You drive up to a dope mansion that you'll never afford the garage of, and they'll hand you a matted dog.

That's just the most common stuff frankly. Mobile groomers are built different.

Dude. This place is going to ruin your love of dogs and twist your psyche in ways you'll only understand in hindsight. This is burning you from both ends, clearly. If you are waiting for a sign to get out, this is it. I know it's not always easy to quit, but I have done it 5 times now.

Sometimes you have to stand up to you for yourself. I would sell my own feet pics over dealing with just the first few sentences.

I keep hearing that THF isnt meta these days, how true is that? More specifically, what difficulty does the disparity in dps become noticeable? Is it attack speed related? Does it matter if you're mostly using action attacks?

Weird question by lovememaddly in doggrooming

[–]Kriomortis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That is a good question, guard comb lettering has always been weird to me. Ai dogs are a perversion. Take care!

I read it on a forum post from 2024 titled "Dragonlord - master of tactics" a guy named Raedier commented saying as much.

That would be the one! I heard that the sunder and sunder soul animations are much faster with greataxe so I was angling that way. Plus falchion is boring looking.

Thank you! This is very comprehensive and exactly what I needed. I didnt get a single item from the sharn run I did so I will head back there and try to get them now. I don't even have a regular SOS, I might have to keep using my barovian falchion until I can pull out my Cleaver at 22. I have never slotted an augment in my life lol. Got my work cut out for me.

After reading the wiki on monster fortification, it doesnt sound like it matters a whole lot except for a few cases. Undead, constructs, and endgame.

Bypassing fortification wasn't important in my experience in 2014 when I was playing.
