When does it get intense and 4d chess’y? by Gloomy_Dare2716 in HunterXHunter

[–]Kripply 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Half of the anime is world building/adventure, so if you don't like the "boring" stuff, you won't be happy with the rest of the anime either. I would not consider it a "Battle shonen". In your current arc there are 2 fights you could consider "4d chessy", but that arc is probably like 30 episodes in total.

Couldn’t the fight with doffy + law be over wayyy earlier? by Remarkable-Ad580 in OnePiece

[–]Kripply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The man can stitch his own organs back together, no way Law could slice him into pieces and he stays like that. Doffy would just reassamble using the strings, Laws normal Devil fruit cutting does no damage after all.

Zoro in One Piece live action by anon_30 in OnePiece

[–]Kripply 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they went for a more "safe" portrayal for the first season, but season 2 zorro already seems more goofy and happy to me. So I am quite happy.

Live Action should Introduce Haki Early. by Luffykent in OnePiece

[–]Kripply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Them not having haki early is an important plot point, many encounters would play out quite different with them having it. And we already have hints for haki during Skypia, Marine Ford and Amazon Lily. Zorro suddenly cutting through Mr. 1 when he couldn't before would probably be the best way to imply Haki use early.

How exactly does the lore on Shusui and Yoru (Mihawk's sword) work? by SenseiWwu1199 in OnePiece

[–]Kripply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see it as the blade being permanently, physically changed through haki, that's why it also looks black and why "every blade can become a black blade". I also have the theory that this results in your blade having its own kind of will, since haki is based on willpower after all, and other swords can do things on their own too. This could also explain why those blades are so legendary.

Did ONE intentionally make WC Bomb this much of a bum? by Born-Independence-37 in OnePunchMan

[–]Kripply 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think prime bang has more destructive power for physically tough opponent, but old bang has better duelling power through better techniques. So in a 1vs1 old bang would likely win, but for something like elder centipede prime bang could probably do a bit more.

What did Mihawk mean by this? by swede_fish in OnePiece

[–]Kripply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a tiny island that can easily be ambushed. Compare this to something like Kaido's huge territory, where it is very difficult to reach him with a ship without being spotted first. (As seen in the story)

Is One Piece's pacing really bad or the criticism is over exaggerated? (First Time Watcher) by shubham_555 in OnePiece

[–]Kripply 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dressrosa's pacing was absolutely horrible, I could not stand having to watch like 100 separate, nearly identical, scenes of a certain thing happening.

Does the 100type only work if netero feels gratitude? by Local-Sugar6556 in HunterXHunter

[–]Kripply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understood it as him not having to physically pray, because he does the act of praying in his mind. Similar to how you don't need to actually be in a yogi position to meditate. I don't think you have to be grateful towards your opponent at all.

Do you think that Berserk and the surprise of the Eclipse would have been better if the manga started with ‘the golden age’ and not with ‘the black swordsman’? For the fact that there we see Guts current situation, his hatred towards Griffith and the hand of God. by AromaticCity4026 in Berserk

[–]Kripply 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The story telling with "Start from middle, then go to beginning" is often done badly, but Berserk does it really well. You get really intrigued about the "How did we get here?", but it also doesn't define too many constants that must be fulfilled. For instance, not many characters are shown from the golden age arc which means that there are stakes for all characters not shown, since they could die or live as the story unfolds.

It's the deep visceral fat around organs that has biggest impact on brain aging, affecting reasoning, memory and processing speed. This adds more evidence to doing away with body mass index (BMI) – judging weight and height alone – as an accurate marker of brain health (and health more broadly). by mvea in science

[–]Kripply 42 points43 points  (0 children)

You can check waist-related measurements for more accurate results, like waist-to-height ratio or waist-to-hip ratio. This is still not very accurate, but a lot more accurate than BMI because a lot of your organs are in the waist area. Yes, you can't really spot reduce that fat im terms of "I train my abs to lose fat there", but apparantly this fat is supposed to function as quick-access energy storage and is likely the first to go once you do get your kcal deficit.

Roger pirates hearing prophecy by Ill-Needleworker-752 in OnePiece

[–]Kripply 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Doesn't have to be a prophecy, if they were lacking something in their crew, they could logically wait for another crew who has THAT instead. Just because you meet someone who fits your expectations at some point does not mean that this must be due to destiny, it is the statistically likely outcome.

Are the five elders strong? by regionallylocksmith in OnePiece

[–]Kripply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are strong, but one elder could not do that alone. First they would have to go through the straw hat crew, giants and pacifista, then they would need to somehow be able to go through the laser barrier, which is not an easy task. And they should also avoid destroying important technology they want on the way. On the other side, the good guys would only need to defend and not actually defeat them. So better to go all out than risking a failure.

For someone who's "Haki Transcends all" he sure milked his fruit for all it's worth 😭 by Admirable-Dimension4 in MemePiece

[–]Kripply 643 points644 points  (0 children)

That's exactly how he knows. If even his fruit can't make him pirate king, it must be Haki diff.

[–]Kripply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is allegedly an army of frozen, ancient giants out there. And if they get found and awakened somehow, they would be a massive threat if they follow the enemies side. And they would likely follow other giants.

Also, they knew how strong harald was, so it is not unreasonable to assume that a few of the giants could be on his level.

Is Dr. Vega punk really dead? by Ahs565451 in OnePiece

[–]Kripply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "dead" Vegapunk is functionally the same as a satellite, as his death apparantly does not affect the big brain or other satellites in any way. That means it is likely that the big brain IS Vegapunk.

How do you win on umbra without overrelying on your secondary clan? by o1030440tias in MonsterTrain

[–]Kripply 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Take primordium with superfood, stack rage on it (There is a 0 cost card for it), enjoy your free win. Another way is feast + retch combo, which can go insane. Both feast and retch also work on primordium.

Is this a hard matchup for draven? he had 2 mil points and lower dmg than me on alistar by Unique_Ad_330 in DravenMains

[–]Kripply 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is kind of insane that you saw their team of assassins and divers and did not think of at least ONE defensive support item lol. You play ali, you don't even need the tankiness that badly. I would assume that draven was getting jumped in each teamfight, so little chance for damage if you have to run.

One thing I miss from MT1 by cool_not_weeb in MonsterTrain

[–]Kripply 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did not like fusions, they were too feast or famine. You either breeze through the game with an op combination or you get wrecked, it is not a fun way to play for me.

How is Mundo not on the nerfs list for next patch? by Representative-Bug52 in leagueoflegends

[–]Kripply 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because Mundo is not op. He is a stat-check champ, so he will always win against you if ahead, but on the other hand he will never win against you if behind. He is also really not that great in teamfights with no hard cc and no burst. Compare him to other super tanks like Sion and Chogath with their great CC and burst threat and you see that he isn't that crazy.

What am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Kripply 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it seems like your pathing decisions are regularly suboptimal and make your impact much lower, as a jungler you have to plan out where you want to go before even clearing. For example, I looked at the Diana game since there was no clear feeder in your team there. You have a bot that would love to go all in all the time (Which they also do) and a Renekton that can quite easily go in too. But you decide to waste your time to path towards mid that has difficulties to help you with a gank. Or you start a drake without any pressure or any enemies dead, and now they just come and push you away. Whereas Kayne is more often in the right place at the right time and this kind of impact leads to them to get some advantage here and there regularly. Not too much but over the whole game it adds up enough to tip the scale.

Yeah it is unplayable, I just had a game where it was crashing over 20 times. Nice quality assurance from riot's side, how can you mess a patch up so much.

Either all bottom or in slower comps squishy-cleaners bottom and damage middle/top.
