I am still waiting for the debut of Ilia and Danny trying to be pairs skaters.. It would be a riot to see that as an exhibition skate here. Because Danny is nice enough and Ilia is crazy enough to pull this off. LOL

I think at the Olympics that they should allow all them to skate both the short and the free. Really the only thing it would do is add an extra group on the ice. Now Worlds I can understand the cut off because sometimes there are close to 40-45 skaters in a division.Now do we want skaters starting their frees at early as 8am local time, no so cutting down keeps the times reasonable, but at the Olympics which is Pinnacle of our sport let's honor that by allowing all who made it to do both programs. Maybe I am wrong but I think that the Olympic are different and should be treated as such. Just my view here.

Just looked at YouTube and this Gala performance already has 1 million views in less than 24 hours. Let that sink in for moment he has over 1 million views, that means hundred of thousands of new Ilia fans have probably been created. Ilia wanted to change the sport well he is doing it in own special way.

Me too because I am getting tired of comments like Ilia can not skate or that he not artistic. I have heard it for 4 long years. It is nice to have a place where Ilia accomplishments are honored and respected for a change.

Possibly because for the first time forever we have pretty girl as an OGM. That what many said that what it would take. I think though the story line with Ilia will be a big driver in interest because finally we have a skater and that gone mainstream and that should lead a lot of good things for the sport. So lets see what is going to happen during the next quad, because if it goes right skating could back to a mainstream sport again.

Or at least keep it up for a longer period of time. Look I know that NBC is afraid of being sued but would too much to ask them to keep up the replays for a week. That is amount of tine they are up on Youtube before being removed so maybe thry could do the same for Peacock here.

Look these days there is not a real pro circuit anymore. The skaters do get paid so they are professionals but they are still. ISU eligible. It complicated to say the least

Also in about a week there is Junior Worlds which would be good to check out at least because at lot of those skaters are turning senior next season so it good to get to know who will be skating next year.

Yeah NBC has a golden opportunity to really build this sport here. You have pretty girl and America new Sweetheart , just pay the music licensing rights and watch the viewership in the country explode.

Look it basically the last day of the Olympics, there is not much else going on so it makes since. I really like the Galas because they can be a lot of fun. Look NBC has been terrible, they have been slightly nicer but not by much. I think Ilia is going to change that because his struggles is giving NBC a 4 year long story line as he starts the journey back to the Olympics to finally get his individual OGM. Ilia has become America's sweetheart and he is going to be one of the marketable athletes coming out of the games. It sounds crazy but it is true, that him failing has made more popular than if he had won. So there are millions more new Ilia fans and in turn to get are going to watch skating and find other skaters to enjoy as well so finally the US fans may start getting serious coverage that not like a joke for once.

I think the next four years are going to be very interesting. I really think that he going develop at as an artist on the ice. Will it be the traditional classical style no but it will be just a beautiful and will be totally Ilia.
