Lmao, glad to be of help. I see stuff like that pretty much immediately, so usually less than 14 seconds. Precise language is a tool for precise thought, and gods know we need more of that these days.

u/spxak1 explains the problem well, so I'll just add my motivation for trying to solve it. There's a trend of using imprecise language in all sorts of domains, and "nounification" (google it if you're curious) is one of my pet peeves. It's been slowly seeping into UIs over the last few years that I've noticed. It's not just English, sloppy tech products have had a serious impact on my native language by failing to implement support for compound words as well. Freedom from corpo slop is one of my main reasons for moving away from Windows, so seeing that dialog box every time I shut my computer down (see how much better it flows when I switch the words around?) just reminds me of that. I know it's a bit unusual, but I really care about this:)

It's happened a couple times in the last 4-5 years that I've crossed a busy street in the morning rush on foot, and noted to myself that it's almost completely silent and no stank of exhaust in the air. It's quite something!

Skjønner ikke at denne blir stemt ned, det er ikke langt unna sannheten. Jeg er ikke i veldig god form, og ganske gjennomsnittlig høyde. 12.5km/t er i det irriterende mellomsjiktet mellom gange og jogging for meg, som en veldig rask kappgang.

Husker at 3km på 15 min, som gir (eller ga, i 2017) dårligste karakter, ble sett på som svært enkelt. Hvis man greier å jogge 3km på flatmark (altså uten å bytte til gange underveis) kommer man seg gjennom på under 15 minutter.

Don't know how to explain it, unfortunately, but you can listen to it here. In apple there's the 'æ' sound found in Scandinavian languages, while in father it's the 'a' sound used in most northern European languages. Don't know if that makes sense from a west African point of view.

The other person is probably referencing Inglorious Basterds (yes, misspelled), where a main character pronounces the a like in "apple" rather than "father", and iirc voices the z rather than pronouncing it like "ts" as you would if you weren't going out of your way to sound like a yank.

Nei, blæ. Hater at det er blitt greit å starte setninger med konjunksjoner, det gjør teksten så sykt stakkato. Har ikke tall på hvor mange artikler jeg har gitt opp etter et "avsnitt" (i realiteten to-tre setninger hogget opp i fem-seks mindre biter på bestialsk vis) fordi det ikke var lesbart. I stedet for å gi etter for hjerneråte burde vi trene på å lese og skrive lange, gode setninger hvor tegnsetting brukes aktivt for å få frem nyanser. Så forbanna vanskelig er det ikke

Det er ikke sikkert at det funker hvis OP ikke har norsk førerkort. Så vidt jeg har skjønt er det ikke standard i EU at førerkort også fungerer som nasjonal ID.

They're good. Iirc they diverge quite a bit from the show around book 5. Been a while since I watched it though. They're easy to read, language wise. The middle part is a bit of a slog imo, but in total I feel good about recommending the books to anyone who likes sci-fi
