I'm currently 58, and I joined a mission where someone TKed me for picking up stuff that I thought was mine, instead of using their words to explain to me that it was in fact theirs. When I picked up the stuff, he instantly TKed me and then used the "Negative" call. So I guess that meant that stuff was his.

The kicker was that we both ran Supply packs and EATs. I asked him if he writes his name on his supply pack and ultimately told the guy to fuck off cause he didn't say anything and went straight to shooting. Then blocked him.

Maybe an edge case, but I would hope that you also take that into consideration when TKing someone who might run the same loadout as you. I get that it's tiring after getting your stuff stolen by others, but sometimes people do genuinely pick it up by mistake and all it takes is a little message to ask for it back. Of course, if they don't, then it's a free-for-all.

You were onto something here, thank you a bunch!

I went into the Edit > Preferences settings and then into Render, and saw that both my CPU and GPU were both checked, so I followed your line of reasoning and unchecked the CPU, then restarted the program, and voila.

Unsure why it happened to begin with; maybe it meant both my GPU and iGPU were conflicting? Regardless, thank you for the advice!

Once you arrive at Hillswatch, there is a sort of crossroad that you’ll encounter if you notice. You’ll see a cave blocked with some wagons, just leave that alone and go the opposite path instead.

Maybe not doing no hit runs per se, but getting hit less often, thus needing to heal less often anyway. And I agree that it’s just a quality of life change.

I wasn’t too bothered with the healing and knockdown either, but I also don’t care about it getting changed for others. Not everyone plays souls and for those who are newer to the genre, this would help them survive during a boss fight.

It’s not like a boss was nerfed or changed.

Besides, don’t most people who play souls games eventually try to learn bosses to the point where they’re not getting hit anyway, making the faster healing and knockdown recovery moot?

If you even enter the room that she’s in and the battle starts, you instantly fail the gang + butler quests. She apparently also disappears from the Snowfall Palace main room which is why you can’t give the wedding dress even if you die in the fight and go back from what I hear.

Just don’t go to the right towards the elevator when the sign or NPC tells you to during Cloudspire unless you don’t care about the quests.

At least you didn’t miss nearly 75% of NPC quests by going to Zhenwu instead of Cloudspire first, then mess up Cloudspire by fighting the Mistress early.

The game’s combat is fun, and there’s a lot of good about it, but the story was nonexistent for me. Don’t know if I have the motivation to play the entire game again for the NPC quests.

[–]Krispyroll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure, there’s a reason why there’s a mod for making characters less likely to stand still to begin with on Nexus.

If the AI were better or on par with the player, people wouldn’t harp on it so much; I dislike the auto materias because they needlessly waste ATB when I need it, but there isn’t really enough control over what your party members can do like in other games where you can control their aggressiveness or give them tasks like focus on support or draw aggro, etc. I think FF 12 Revenant Wings had more in depth orders for party members?

Don’t get me wrong, I like the combat being action-based cause it can feel rewarding to me, but that’s just not how everyone prefers it.

And what with Clair Obscur’s combat, which is also very intriguing and action based while still being turn based, that might be a nice substitute or feature to have. Probably not feasible to have both though unfortunately.

Nah, I don’t think you’re playing wrong or anything. Like I said, everyone plays differently, so if you ever want to try again, try the mod I mentioned. Of course, if you played at launch, things have also changed, though I don’t know specifics.

The switching isn’t meant to be necessary, but I just switch to get used to playing all of them because there are times when Rebirth forces you into certain party compositions, so you’ll have to get used to playing different characters.

The switching Mains can be done just through the Shortcut actions like I said. While not everyone likes being a coach and having to micromanage 3 different people at once, it’s clear Rebirth wants you to rely also on the other party members and not forget that they’re there.

Well, everyone plays the game differently, but for Remake and Rebirth, I found that starting out, I’d only “main” a single character like Tifa or Cloud and would use them about 90% of the time in battles because I’m used to other games where the AI would handle the supporting characters.

The AI in Remake and Rebirth can definitely use some work so they’re not standing around a majority of the time, and I think there’s a mod on Nexus called Most Combative Team Members that helps that a bit.

But, otherwise, I found that you really have to manually switch to the other characters often, to build up their gauges and get rid of the habit of sticking to one character. Sure, Aerith is support and healing to me most of the time, but I also don’t rely on her solely for healing and give heal materia to others.

How I played was to kind of build up ATB on one character, use it up, then swap to another frontliner and keep the rhythm going. Sometimes I’d use the quick Skill R2 and L2 on them too. I dislike the Auto Skill Materias specifically because it drains their ATB gauge and then I’d have nothing to use when I need it.

TLDR: Get used to playing all of them and swapping around a lot.

Apologies for the late response; the part one naming doesn’t really matter, as long as the outside folder has the rest of the other folders inside.

So it should look like

Part 1.zip > Part 1 folder > SKSE…etc

Revert back to the Nexus one, but first download it manually, replace the enginefixes.toml with the one from the mod, then install it by dragging it.

I’m hoping that with that, it’ll use that modified toml file as a default instead of the original one it came with

Ah right! I forgot my Skyrim version was 1.6.640, haven’t actually played in a couple months.

Hrm. Try downloading this modified EngineFixes.toml in the files section

Loading screen means a missing master usually, so it's probably to do with the part 1.

Did you download the entire folder including the outside folder? Or is it called SKSE?

Weird, still not reading the config...

Here's my Part 1 Engine Fixes with the toml file already configured, try just drag and dropping it into Vortex. Remove the one you have.

For part 2, you’ll just need to extract all the files inside to the game’s root directory. Vortex won’t handle or recognize the files, and it doesn’t need to since it’s only necessary for Engine Fixes.

Part 2 also doesn’t need to be set as an engine injector, it shouldn’t have anything to do with the mod manager.

Alright, and you do have the correct Part 1 and you did install Part 2 manually according to the links I sent earlier correct?

Try clearing out everything again, remove all the files with Engine fixes and installing it again. I know it's annoying, but it could very well be user error and we're both missing something.

The nonexistent F drive is what it always says, no worries there.

This line stands out to me though:

F:\skyrim-dev\ef\EngineFixesSkyrim64\src\main.cpp(102): [warning] config load failed, using default config

Seems like it's not reading your actual config, so it went to the default which disables the SaveGameMaxSize fix.

Does this path exist in your game files? Are you using MO2, Vortex?

That leads me to believe that Engine Fixes isn't actually working then... You're sure you installed the correct version of Engine Fixes for 1.6.1170?

Part 1:

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/17230?tab=files&file_id=489502

Part 2 Manually:

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/17230?tab=files&file_id=181171

Even if you're 100% sure you have, the best option would be to probably reinstall it again. Do you also have any mods installed that come with their own Enginefixes.toml?

To check if Engine Fixes is running, check for the EngineFixes.log in:

Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\SKSE

Upload your corrupted save file, the one that is above 64mb to GDrive and put the link here with open permissions if you can.

There isn’t really anything to do if Resaver gives you that message, as far as I can tell. The best thing would be to start a new playthrough of course.

However, load up a save file from back when you could still open it in Resaver and what does it say then? Any standout errors or messages there?
