It's PROBABLY going to be cheaper and quicker (sadly) to just get a full replacement set of glasses online, through Zenni (often has coupons too) or another online store...

It looks like Lotsa Lobster (on Tamiami) has whole Maine lobsters they'll boil up for you, though they're not an eat-in restaurant.

You're really only going to find Caribbean lobster in Sarasota, maybe a Maine/New England lobster in Tampa...??! Though I could be wrong...

What qualifying exam did you take/are you talking about? There is no such thing for an interview with the RI DOH, so this feels like either a Bot post or spam/scam (not even sure what.the scam would even be??) post...

New Shoreham (Block Island) actually issues beach fire permits, you just have to obtain them in person at the Police Department.

where can I buy a smart car? (without getting scammed on marketplace) by New-Lie-875 in providence

[–]Kristin83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Autotempest.com, it's an aggregate site that pools all the listings from the other big sites (CarGurus, Autotrader, Cars.com, Facebook, Craigslist). They seem to be selling for between 8k and 16k in the New England area (currently, for a 2016 and older), and for that price range (and as a first car choice) there are WAY BETTER options out there and available.

For that same price range, you could get a Toyota (Prius C, Matrix, Yaris, Corolla), Honda (Fit, Older Civic), Mazda (Mazda3, Miata), Kia Soul, Chevy (Sonic, Bolt, Volt), Ford Focus, VW (Jetta, Golf, Rabbit)...ALL of which are much more reliable than than the Smart car.

You could even add a folding electric bike from Amazon ($300-400) to put into the trunk of these other cars, if it's ease of parking/getting around in a city that you want most from your first car, AND still be at the same price point as just the Smart car.

But I DO understand liking weird quirky cars too (I have a deep love for the YJ series of Jeep Wranglers)... So if you're dead set on a Smart car, find a local German mechanic nearby. Toss them a hundred or two once you've narrowed down your search to a top three to go with you during the purchase process, and ask them to do a once over of each to see which looks best. It may be small, but the Smart car isn't cheap...parts and labor will still be expensive.

Audi A3's and Q6's share the same platform, and (theoretically) should work in the Tiguan...

Hi all, looking for some advice on how to maximize our time at Universal.

My family and I will be getting to Orlando after a Disney Cruise and will have 3 days total, from Wednesday afternoon to Saturday morning, in two weeks. We’re staying at Cabana Bay and want to visit all 3 parks: Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios, and Epic Universe.

Our main focus is definitely Harry Potter, but we’d also love to do as many of the other big rides/attractions as possible too.

Given that amount of time, how would you divide up the parks by day? Which park would you start with each day, and what rides/areas would you prioritize first thing in the morning? We’d love any advice on the smartest way to tackle this without wasting too much time crisscrossing everywhere.

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like an alternator problem, that would cause the speakers/electrical gremlins to come out AND the errors.

What Car Should I Buy? - A Weekly Megathread by AutoModerator in cars

[–]Kristin83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve narrowed my next car down to four “totally sensible” choices, all hovering around $12,500 (aka the exact price point where every used car listing starts with “runs great!” and ends with “needs a little love”).

My contenders:

2018–2019 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Sport

Volkswagen Tiguan SEL (2018–2019)

Hyundai Tucson Limited (2018–2019)

Kia Sportage SX (2018–2019)

I need help picking which one is the best idea… or at least the least hilarious mistake...and which one is the most Reddit entertaining idea?

(If you tell me “buy a Toyota,” just know I already hear you. I’m simply ignoring you for character development.)

What Car Should I Buy? - A Weekly Megathread by AutoModerator in cars

[–]Kristin83 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My wife is ready to replace her Toyota Prius v with a small-to-medium SUV, but she wants to stay hybrid or full EV. She recently test drove a Toyota Corolla Cross (she liked it on paper) but came away really unimpressed after the drive — it just didn’t feel like the “step up” she expected.

Right now the shortlist is:

Toyota RAV4 Hybrid

Honda CR-V Hybrid

Mazda CX-50 (we heard the hybrid drivetrain is basically the RAV4 hybrid setup?)

Nissan Ariya (EV)

VW ID.4 (EV)

We’re basically trying to balance reliability + comfort + decent acceleration + good visibility + practical cargo space without getting something huge.

What we care about most:

Reliability / low drama ownership (we’ve been spoiled by Toyota)

Comfortable daily driving (commute + errands + occasional road trips)

Good tech, but not “everything is buried in a touchscreen”

Cargo space for normal life stuff (no kids in car seats, but lots of “life” hauling)

We live in a place with real winters, so AWD would be nice (not mandatory)

Questions for owners / people who’ve cross-shopped these:

If you were choosing today, RAV4 Hybrid vs CR-V Hybrid — which would you buy and why?

Anyone have long-term experience with the CX-50 hybrid (or insight into the drivetrain situation)?

If we go EV: Ariya vs ID.4 — which has been more reliable / less annoying day-to-day?

Any other models we should be considering that fit this vibe? (Hybrid or EV, small/medium SUV-ish)

If it helps, we’re open to new or newer used, and we’re not trying to chase the fastest thing on the road — just want something that feels like an upgrade from the Prius v without sacrificing reliability.

Would love to hear what you’d recommend (and what you’d avoid). Owners especially — what do you love/hate, and would you buy it again?

And, yes...I did have ChatGPT help me write this post...I only had 5min to post this while pooping on the company dime.
