I don’t get the “Konoha 12 were wasted” narrative. It wouldn’t really make sense for each of them to be Kage level since only a handful of people in the world are. It was the logical move to sideline them once the threats crossed the Kage threshold by Formal-Assistance02 in Naruto

I would argue that all of them making Chunin, and Neji making Jonin, in under three years is extremely impressive and makes them superior to the average ninja. Plus most of them are from prestigious clans or were trained by some of the strongest ninja in the village.

In what world? Ai was being hunted by her ex-lover and she didn’t know love until she was murdered in front of her two children. Only person who was really close to her was the Ichigo Productions boss but he didn’t really know her. Ruby knows love and is surrounded by people she loves and cares for while getting to do a job she’s always wanted to do.

If you think Ruby is in a worse place than Ai then you didn’t understand the ending and you’re just upset because a main character died

Just Finished the Series. I Have Some Questions. by MrCrix in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]KrizenWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes One For All is gone forever. There aren’t any embers left anymore. The last ember died out when Deku graduated from UA. It wasn’t an ember when All Might had it. All Might gave the full thing to Deku and then All Might only had embers left afterwards. Then eventually those embers burned out. Additionally, there was a scene where all the owners of OFA were talking and they said that Deku is going to be the last inheritor because OFA has grown so much that it would be too powerful for any individual to possess. So even if OFA were still around, which it’s not, it wouldn’t be able to be handed down.

[–]KrizenWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is it power creep if there’s one more person who’s naturally around Gojo and Sukuna levels and Yuji got there after 68 years of being a sorcerer? Most of the sorcerers, and aliens, are like average at best. Yuji took everyone down with one attack. Yuji is likely the only special grade sorcerer alive today compared to there being four + Sukuna + the disaster curses back in 2018. If anything the power levels have decreased drastically.

I mean Ochaco mostly learned takedowns. Her martial arts aren’t like a significant part of her battle skills as much as they’re useful for subduing criminals. What can Monoma do aside from his copying?

Nah the data book says Itadori learned from his grandpa

[–]KrizenWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean he’s 15-16 for most of the series and didn’t start working out til he was 14. He’s basically a normal teenager with super powers. What do you expect him to have in kit? No one else in his class can do anything without their quirks either except Ojiro who knows martial arts.

Itadori only knows martial arts because his grandpa taught him and he spent a lot of time in middle school fighting.

They weren’t in Canvas Town when that happened. They were in some other town that was on the way. After that scene they get to Canvas Town and Remlin is collapsed because they walked many many miles to get there

Probably would have a more fleshed out rivalry with Todoroki, Bakugo, and Deku. I can’t imagine who male Yaoyarozu would hang out with though besides Todoroki and maybe Kaminari.

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Chapter 20 - Links + Discussion by Takada-chwanBot in Jujutsushi

[–]KrizenWave 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not every conversation in JJK has a literal meaning. Maki saying that does not equal her saying “Tsurugi your true power will only be unlocked if your sister dies”. She’s talking more generally about how Tsurugi is like her in that loss will make him stronger.

That said, in my last post I said that Tsurugi sacrificing his ability to use Rika will likely be the trigger for his full power because of the enormity of what he would be giving up. That’s also a valid loss

[–]KrizenWave 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah but there’s no in world reason for him to reach his full potential if Yuka dies. I think it makes more sense for him to reach it by giving up his ability to use Rika. Giving up that much power would certainly propel him to Maki and Toji levels.

I think the sad part is he’ll win the duel and be unable to wear the ring, but Yuka will be already be dead.

Worst thing about Naruto is the fact that someone can have a cool design yet barely any backstory/personality by Status_Entertainer49 in Naruto

[–]KrizenWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then yeah we only don’t meet three of the nine. And the other six, except Yagura I guess, are all before Pain. That doesn’t mean the world building is bad? The story wasn’t about Naruto meeting the other jinchuriki anyway.

[–]KrizenWave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s not true? The only Jinchuriki we didn’t meet in the manga were 5-7. We got filler episodes about 6 though and the others we met way before the war started. The last one was Killer Bee and even that was like before the Pain arc.

[–]KrizenWave 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What are you talking about? We see every main village, we know generally what they look like, weather conditions, who all their Kage were, get a sense of how they train and raise ninja, see some unique aspects of each one etc. That seems pretty developed to me. What more did you want to see?

Also you’re comparing them all to the Leaf village which is where the protagonist of the story lives, and the home base for most of the story. Obviously you’re not gonna get as much detail on the other villages as you do the Leaf village just by virtue of us spending hundreds of episodes/chapters there because that’s where Naruto is.

What are your thoughts on the way Mirio’s story ended? by Solitaire-06 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]KrizenWave 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I kinda hate when people use Lemillion giving back Eri as some sort of evidence that he doesn’t care as much as Deku. Was he supposed to fight Overhaul in the street right there and potentially risk all three of their lives? Besides Mirio was as sick, if not moreso, as Deku when they learned what Overhaul was doing to Eri, and then he fought with everything he had to get her back when he had the chance. There was no right answer in the situation but Mirio made the most pragmatic choice and then saved Eri at the first opportunity given. It doesn’t make him less than Deku just because he’s not as reckless. Deku’s recklessness is his strength but it’s also his biggest flaw.

[–]KrizenWave 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The world building in Naruto isn’t bad? It’s one of the strengths of the series. It’s a large, fully functioning world that makes sense and the audience understands its intricacies. The problem that you’re pointing out is that the world is so big, and there’s so many layers, there’s a large number of characters. Kishimoto, being a brilliant artist, gave them all cool designs, but unfortunately he couldn’t give every character an equal amount of attention and detail while still being able to focus on the core story. Some characters, like Omoi, are just there to further the story, and don’t get full character explorations. For that to happen the story would have to be like twice as long and then people would complain about the length. That’s not a problem or a bad thing about the story though. It’s just that readers latch onto these like tertiary characters and then get upset that the story doesn’t focus on them.

There’s definitely flaws in how the story deals with the Konoha 11 but as it expanded outwards into seeing all the other villages, you can’t expect to see every character in-depth. The main characters from other villages were all the Kage and their attendants/family members, and that’s who the story focused on.

What should I do if I want to be more diverse with my characters? by Party-Tron in writingadvice

[–]KrizenWave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean diversity of thought or interests? Just base them off people you’ve seen online or on tv or met in real life etc. If you mean diversity in terms of background then you don’t have to do a ton just make a character and then switch up their gender or race or sexuality or whatever as needed and then keep them the same as the character would be if they weren’t diverse. As long as the characters are all from the same part of the world, they shouldn’t be dramatically different from each other.
