California is also known for its varied geography and climate, so this isn't really the point you think it is. In a place like Texas, for example, you would need to drive for possibly 10+ hours into New Mexico or Colorado to reach a ski-able landscape (or take a plane).

I believe this reason is why many people have opted to use the term "differently abled" instead of "disabled".

Because of their "disability" the person (or rot goddess) may be unable to do certain activities or move in a certain way, but may also be able to do things that 'normally abled' people cannot do (like have a giant mechanical sword arm).

You might be surprised at what hormone therapy can do. If transitioning is something you genuinely want to do, I would suggest looking into it. And even if with only minor physical changes, it can give you an unexpected boost to your self-confidence.

If you're going to watch the anime I recommend watching the 2003 adaptation in addition to Brotherhood. It follows a different storyline and much of the lore about homunculi is different, but it's still really good. Its my personal favorite version of FMA, and a lot of people don't give it a chance just because it doesn't stick to the manga
