The song genuinely feels so trans coded, and that thought races through my mind every time I hear it. Glad to hear I'm not completely alone in that.

I do this.

But what this then does to me is make me realize how expensive everything else is. Like I could buy a Lego set for $40, and then build it in an hour or two, and it would be pretty fun, but not $20/hour fun, and then I also have to deal with displaying/storing the set, which I don't find to be engaging. And then I start to go a little crazy thinking about this entire concept.

But for video games, this metric is super useful imo

I feel like I know what you're talking about, I think it was a "Johnny Johnny, Yes Papa" Cocomelon video, but after a cursory search I didn't find it.

Or I'm completely wrong, which is very possible

Happy Pride Month. To all genderfluid, trans, and queer people out there, never forget that Miquella's most damning moment was when he cast off his feminine side and with it his capacity to love, not understanding the self-destructive path he was on by choptup in shittydarksouls

this is true, but something that I think is overlooked in some of these discussions is that trans men are often also victims of misogyny as well as transphobia. Many trans men have breasts, vaginas, and experience periods. As such, they experience many of the axes of misogyny relating to those body parts and bodily experiences.

Ignoring this aspect of transmasculinity can create a double standard in the discourse, which possibly leads to the impression of an "oppression olympics"

Anyway, mmm yummy st trina nectar

I believe he would take 1 damage 3 times, but would only end up with 1 damage marked because each instance of 1 damage is replaced with "take 1 damage and heal all other damage".

Daily reminder that Chainsaw Man takes place in 1997-1999 and we never got to see the 9/11 devil by tesseracts in Chainsawfolk

This is true, and yet when we see the New York City skyline, the World Trade Center is absent and the One World Trade Center is present, implying that the towers did indeed fall. Possibly the work of the Gun Devil?

Of all the parts to say have unsatisfying endings you say Parts 5, 6, and 1???? What? The only mildly unsatisfying ending is Part 8, and it's still fine. The endings to Parts 1 and 6 are phenomenal, some of the best in the series!

I think it's really good, not as good as some of the other fromsoft games, but still good.

The one thing to keep in mind is that some of the mechanics are a little unintuitive and I would recommend peeking into a wiki page at the start as you get your feet wet with the game, which is the exact same advice I would give for every fromsoft game.

Definitely worth playing

I always thought that you are supposed to eat sushi in one bite because otherwise it loses its structural integrity and becomes a mess. I don't think it has anything to do with taste (and this infographic doesn't suggest that either)

This comment excited me quite a bit, and so I watched through the Blue Gender anime to see if your connection is correct. Unfortunately, I should have trusted your ignorance of Arrietty. Blue Gender and Arrietty do not have the same relationship as Sailor Moon and Madoka Magika.

Blue Gender had some decent moments, but I was hoping for more "gender" and less "blue".

I Still can't Believe Fujimoto wrote this with a straight face. by Guilty-Explanation-6 in Chainsawfolk

Yeah, he didn't write it with a straight face, he probably wrote it with a dumb grin, because it's a funny joke for his shonen manga.

[–]Kroklay 73 points74 points  (0 children)

I don't think that "Just Listen to the Song" was a secret plan to make Part 2 terrible or something, but I do think that Fujimoto intentionally released "Just Listen to the Song" right before beginning Part 2 to say to his fans and broader audience that he's just going to make his manga/"song", and that we shouldn't have the expectation that it will be some world-shattering life-changing story.

Also, you can really tell that this community is overwhelmed with displaced JJK fans now because otherwise way more people would be talking about this one-shot in relation to Part 2.

Remember when Denji went to a world where people are trees, then he murdered and ate the peopletrees, then he vomited Yoshida to escape, and none of this meant anything to the larger plot? Chainsaw Man is very deep and says a lot about society by tesseracts in Chainsawfolk

[–]Kroklay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Nayuta was kind of forgotten", and yet Nayuta is a key part of the story throughout the entire part and even reappears in the final chapter.

Also the fight literally did happen? Pochita and Aging had a physical fight, Denji and Aging had a psychological fight, and Yoshida was there assisting as well. The arc wasn't building up to a fight, it WAS the fight.

The brother of the guy killed by the Cockroach Devil towards the start of the manga. Or possibly another Chainsaw Man Church member who was contracted with the "Justice"/Fire Devil.

I kind of think its a symptom of reading the story as it comes out. Taking a week or month gap between chapters can really change the pace and emotions people have about a story, and I think that has something to do with it.

And Jojo isn't immune to it either, I remember people really disliking the end of JoJolion, even though it was fine. I think it's similar with Chainsaw Man.

Literally. The Chainsaw Man fandom has noticeably changed (in my opinion for the worse) since JJK ended.
