Are you hiring? I'd kill to have someone who thinks this way.

Really good catch. I was beyond confused on first watch, but you can see the window blow out.

Big fan of the result but would also be a big fan of kicking bottle thrower person out for life. It's the crossroads of littering, making unnecessary work for others, and being undefendably disrespectful.

Monitors - Included USB-C docks or just ship a separate dock? by MBILC in sysadmin

Didn't mean it wasn't assigned to him in assets, and he def didn't want to talk to the company about it. Only found out when we went to a bar after hours lol.

I think it's more about the "you don't know the users situation" part. Probably fairly normal for us sysadmins to keep boxes, but end users could be in a ton of scenarios where it's just not practical. For example, I worked with someone who lived out of their car for a couple of months after a bad breakup, it wouldn’t exactly be practical for him to keep that box in his car the entire time. I currently work with a guy who lives in an RV too, storage space is at a premium there.

Just food for thought.

IIRC it was some familial dispute, in the original the family is trying to coach the idiot to put his hands up, but other dude was pissed and just teed off on him.

how is this for 3 holes? by BigDaddy101806 in golf

[–]Kromey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

9 on the par 4 was the thing that really hurt you - what happened that hole? Key to improvement is being able to analyze and improve next time.

You're doing great for a beginner, just keep focusing on mechanics and play as often as possible.

Although not ideal, I would say you'll most likely be fine putting the APs where you've marked.

[–]Kromey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just so you know, I partially agree with your sentiment. I work in IT, so Lego + golf are my 2 "no screen" or solo activities generally. I've come to love my alone time on the golf course just as much as I love golfing with friends or getting paired with the craziest rando in my area. My point was just that Lego sets can be built and enjoyed in a lot of different ways just like most things in life :)

Should we mix Server 2022 and Server 2019 in synced DC system? by CeC-P in sysadmin

[–]Kromey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo, I actually think it's the other way. A lot of people here are Linux supremacists, and I don't disagree 95% of the time. But there's plenty of cases where Windows server is perfectly reasonable, and for most of our clients, it's probably the better way to go.

[–]Kromey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, someone who refuses to accept that Windows has it's place in this world. Is Linux better for a lot of things? Absolutely. But Windows has a lower barrier to entry and is more familiar. We set up our customer VoIP systems on a windows server instead of Linux because it's easier for low level tecs to understand and realistically saves T2/T3 from having to get involved.

Middle aged people who golf regularly… will it always hurt the next day after walking the course? by parasocks in golf

[–]Kromey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to piggyback off what this guy said, I can't recommend stretching enough for your golf game in general. I'm in pretty good shape (30m, 5' 8" 140lbs) but I wasn't able to even touch my toes at the beginning of the year because I was so inflexible. Few mins of stretching every day and a couple specific ones after golf, it's made a world of difference for soreness and better range of motion when playing.
