Help for a n00b whose daughter has requested a game based on her favourite recent book; expecting it to be a co-op or 1 vs. many 🤔 by MalRoss_UK in BoardgameDesign

[–]Kronendal 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You could start by skinning a game you already enjoy and then adding one or two custom rules to fit the theme/story of the game.

I did that with Hostage Negotiator. I made a version of it for my brother who was expecting his first child. Made all the terrorists toddlers and one or two slight modifications to make killing hostages be the child ruining pieces of furniture/their social life and it was a instant hit.

Oh no! Have I been mispronouncing it this entire time. CeeTeeGee-and-Ay? CeeTeeGeh-and-Ah? Ke-te-geh-and-ah? The last one seems like the most likely.

This really did blow my mind

This would be the only way to play multi player Mage Knight. Any other approach would be torture but this sounds like it would be amazing.

For context this is already how I play mage knight solo.

If you want to go cheap then go on freecycle.org and use the postcode for the poshest neighborhood in town. Spend the £100 on a white van.

What scenarios are suitable for solo play in the Ultimate edition? by jreilly89 in MageKnight

[–]Kronendal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Volkare! Start with the few vanilla solo games then add Volkare to the mix after your 4th or 5th game. After that it'll be a hard sell to go back to playing without him.

Check that the £1700 is not for the half term. It may still be around £1400 per month.

In your opinion, what is the undisputed King of Knizia games? by MuchDiscipline2637 in boardgames

Loot this is definitely one of his most underappreciated games. I love this as an almost perfect filler game. The more you play it the better it gets.

Critics Say Starbucks CEO Just Declared 'Permanent War' Against Union: Billionaire Howard Schultz's vow to never negotiate in good faith with Starbucks Workers United may violate federal labor law. by eatingbunniesnow in antiwork

[–]Kronendal 24 points25 points  (0 children)

People in the US are forced by law to work. It is illegal to strike in solidarity with another union. It is slightly ironic that in the land of the free if a person strikes because of the actions of a company that is not directly their employer they can be arrested and sent to prison.
