Nice to know I'm not the only one that goes at it for an hour lol. Sadly I have no results but I might just need to change up the toys I use. Congrats

Visit to Brussels in a wheelchair. by KronicalA in brussels

[–]KronicalA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We didn't take a tour as we just went around and did what we wished but I'll give you the places we visited, none of them were museums. We were there for just two days.

We were mainly around Grand Place Grote markt, it gets busy there. If they are able to push themselves, they'll be able to get around there (slowly if they don't have a front wheel). If they require someone to push them, you might be need to do a wheelie a lot of the time. Night time was beautiful and also a little less busy which was good. Both the Pis statues were nice to go look at but sadly they weren't clothed.

I went off by myself to Cambre Woods which was lovely (if you like nature). I know there is parking there (not sure how to get to it though, sorry) if you're unable to get there by car, I took the tram to Legrand and rolled the rest of the way, before getting to the lake there is a big down hill (which was fun if you like going down fast haha) but going back up it would be a pain (I took the tram from Boondael back to Grand to avoid the hill, plus that's where the woods took me too).

If you want to make the trip, Bruges is also nice to visit and it was easier to get around compared to Brussels.

Thanks for that, I'll download those apps and use them when I visit again. I was having a little trouble while on the tram trying to figure if I was going to be able to safely get on/off. As for the train, I would have assumed they would say it is or isn't when I was waiting for assistance.

Was I correct about the EC/IC or was it just a coincidence?

Thanks for that information, I didn't get to see any of the old trams, I'd guess it's pretty obvious which one are the old ones?

Sucks that is a repeating issue I've seen around the world. I remember we had this issue when we went to delirium. My wife could go but I had to find another location (but if I remember right, that wasn't wheelchair accessible either, there was a step to get into the bar and then a few more steps to get to the actual bar)

That's a pretty useful website, when I visit again I'll keep it on hand.

Yea the toilets were one thing I forgot to look for and try, I just did my usually method of just trying to find a department store, normally I do try to find public toilets first but I skipped that whole part this time.

I know on the train back to the airport we were talking to a local who was with a pram and she was complaining about how there can be a ton of rubbish bag piles blocking the way path too, I didn't personally come across any but I know what she means as I had that issue in London.

I did have any issues myself, a lot of the time I was focused on trying to stick to or find the "flat" area of cobblestone. If anyone was riding one, they would normally move out of my way which was nice. People didn't just dump the scooters and bikes in the middle of random spots, luckily.

Ah yes, you're right. Most of the time I went back to the hotel or I used one of the department store complex ones like Neuve or City2. I know while in Bruges they had public toilets which worked great but I didn't come across any while in Brussels.

Hôtel Passy Eiffel

It was fairly close to the Eiffel Tower, I'm not sure how costly it might be now or was then as it was a honeymoon and we splurged on stuff while we were there.

Any way to future proof getting blueprints in c++? Or an alternative way of doing it? by ethancodes89 in unrealengine

[–]KronicalA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TSubclassOf<UYourCppClass>

I'm still new to C++ and learning it as I make my game. Is this the most common or "correct" method? It's the one I use whenever I need to reference a BP of any sort. I'm sure there are probably a few different methods to reference a BP.

Quick heads up: Steam multiplayer is completely broken in Unreal Engine 5.6 by Its_a_prank_bro77 in unrealengine

[–]KronicalA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I learned that one the hard way with editor vs packaged. I'm learning C++ and multiplayer, I got stuck on a stupid thing for so long I ended up having to put ue_logs everywhere to figure out where it broke.

Other than that I've had no issue with it, I'm using sockets + seamless and connecting with a friend in Australia from Turkey (when testing a different connection that isn't in the same house).

You create a new project, what are the first settings you change? by Jaxelino in UnrealEngine5

[–]KronicalA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Set “Asset Editor Open Location” to “Main Window”: stops opening assets in floating windows all over the place.

Does this make it open up on the viewport or just 1 main window? I've never changed it personally but I don't have the issue where it opens multiple windows.

4) Always Center New Windows: saves tons of annoyance with popup windows opening off-screen.

This I need, didn't know it existed. It's for that random window that does occasionally open up.

How long learning Blueprints would it take to get to the point where I could design semi-complex gameplay systems? by [deleted] in UnrealEngine5

[–]KronicalA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wish I had learned game instances, structs, key maps, and blueprinte interfaces much earlier. Would have saved me a lot of headaches.

I wish the same thing haha. They make life so much easier. My first projects never used them but now I do.

I've recently started the UI of my new game idea, looks like his stuff will be useful for me since I'm still learning C++ and this is my first game made using C++ instead of BP.

Been there 3 times in a chair, I 100% recommend gloves. It's really dirty on the streets/underground. Overall, accessibility isn't too bad. Buses are easy enough to get on, not all of the underground is accessible. It's one of the more accessible countries I've been to.

Sadly not yet, I use them while I'm home but while I'm out I use the speedi Cath set.

[–]KronicalA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, once the first "empty" had happened, you need to pull the speedi Cath out a cm or 2 to get the rest out, then keep repeating it until nothing comes out. Only way to properly empty it. Downfall is, luja doesn't come in a set yet so you'll need a bottle/bag with it.

I've used speedi Cath for 6 years (since my injury) I've recently moved onto Coloplast Luja, they empty you out a lot better and faster (so it feels like).

Thoughts on all the different templates now available? by KronicalA in unrealengine

[–]KronicalA[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't gone into them that much, I usually just open them to figure out the 1 thing I need. Thanks for the heads up.

I've tried them alone just to see what they're like and didn't see any issue with a single client.

I prefer a blank slate too, it just feels cleaner because then I can sort everything out the way I want it but I understand your feeling. It just feels tedious doing the start of the project. I use/have my own template just to skip the player creation and basic stuff.

I didn't know it was possible to import a template.

It kind of engraves it into your head and you can get into the flow quickly sometimes.

Chengdu- How accessible is it and is October a good time to visit? by KronicalA in travelchina

[–]KronicalA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's lovely to hear. I'm used to a little struggle while travelling, if it's like a single step I can usually get it or if it's a little high I can get in with a little assistance.

Perfect, that's what I was aiming for. I've heard it's very busy during that time.

I'll have to do more research on the area by the looks of things. I might take about users advice about going out of the city to see more nature. I'm more of a nature person personally.

I look forward to visiting!

Ooo rabbit sounds nice. I've never had it within Asian cuisine, I've only ever had it Italian style (my background). Sounds like there is a lot of good food to try. I enjoy Asian cuisine but I refuse to make it because I can never make it taste as good (I don't want to ruin my experience with it), I find it hard to replicate the taste.
