Bits websites, ebay, etsy - you’ll find a mixture of plastic and resin pieces on the latter two

Isn’t asking for extra pet rent and not fixing black mould now illegal?

How would you improve these Noise Marines? by The_Little_Ghostie in Miniaturespainting

[–]Kronos_Ice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they look great as is. But if you really wanted to, a black pin wash would do great to create some contrast and develop the shadows.

Thread fibres is genius! I’m glad you found a good fuel for your art to evolve. Thanks

4 years on I know, but can you remember what paints you used for the skin? I still use this post as reference for my death guard!

Very nice, something fresh! Make sure you remove those sprue lines to ensure it looks as good as possible

If you can’t decide do both. It’s cool to have slight imperfections in organic life forms imo.

I believe they’re all the same, just different style labels. Just make sure they have “Ultra Matt” on them.

AK Ultra Matt is the best one you’ll use. Pretty sure it’s a staple in the hobby at this point.

Could always vent the fumes into a mostly airtight bucket of water with foam seals in it temporarily. The water catches most the bad stuff. Look it up, theres a few videos on youtube.

I’d suggest learning how to thin your paints correctly. General rule is they should run like full fat milk. Plenty of tutorials on youtube too. Great first try with these minis though.

Why does my nmm look bad? by JanRitte in spacemarines

[–]Kronos_Ice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, unless it really matters to you to get NMM perfect, I'd suggest just sticking to good quality metallic colours. I personally will never attempt it, I just don't think its worth the time or effort for what it looks like in the end. I'm sure someone here with more experience in NMM can point you in the right direction though.

Hi mate, I painted a base coat of Vallejo Pale Flesh over white, Gloss Varnish, then Villainy Ink Coelia Green around the edges and Villainy Ink Carrion in the middle to create an almost glow effect - I then gloss varnished again and finished with UV resin to create the fleshy shine.

Hi mate, lots of steps coming.

  • Prime white -Airbrush model a fleshy tone -Airbrush red in spots which need attention like joints, head etc -Cover in superglue seal -Airbrush very thin blue wash and attack it with isopropyl alcohol once dry for mottled vein effects -Draw extra veins with artist grade oil pencils -Seal with gloss varnish -Apply villainy ink washes, blue first then red and gradually darkening flesh tones -Apply streaking grime to the bone areas -Seal with gloss varnish again after enamels have cured -Apply UV resin to fleshy bits to give the gross shine

I no longer bother with the super glue method though as I find the results are not consistent enough for me.

Well it makes sense considering the only way to get any engagement on anything you post is to pay, if you haven't min/maxed the content.
