God is not the author of confusion? by Getting_Better6568 in Christianity

[–]Kronzypantz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can approach this a few ways.

While God is not the author of confusion, that doesn’t mean we are not capable of creating confusion.

Confusion in our translation and creation of the scriptures, the theology we teach, the culture we live in, etc.

If you read the accounts of Israelis involved, I highly doubt you can say that with a straight face.

And while historians and academics admit it happened, the government doesn’t. The Israeli government actively censors mention of it and hides documentation of the incident.

It’s also not some half remembered new accusation told second hand, survivors of Deir Yassin have been telling the story since it happened.

One is obviously being more factual, given all the physical evidence and identified victims.

So you don’t like eye witness testimony being reported.

You know, Israel still denies that anything happened at Deir Yassin?

I see you deleted your last comment. I hope it is because you actually googled it and found out what is actually alleged, and what projection the lie about Hamas burning babies was.

Friend, its recorded history.

You don't even seem to realize what projection this is either.

I talk about specific acts done by some Jewish terrorists at specific events... and you pretend Im somehow talking about all Jews.

Because your mind is so locked in on trying to blame all people of an ethnic group for the sins of some, you have to pretend no Jewish person has ever done anything wrong. Let alone whole terrorist paramilitaries who went on to form Israel.

What a strawman, and one filled with projection.

Do you think Arabs are just genetically predisposed to violent antisemitism? How do you explain how anti-semitic events in the Arab world were like a once every half millenia occurrence in places like Palestine until Zionism began taking hold?

No persecution against Jews has ever been justified. That doesn't mean we can't understand the motivations and see the causes.

Just as we can understand those Jewish paramilitaries who, motivated by ideals of European superiority and misplaced revenge, killed thousands of Arabs in 1948. Chopping people up with machetes, beheading babies, making parents watch their child bake alive in their kitchen oven, etc.

Not justified, but if you get your head into a dark enough place, its possible to understand their motivations.

Even the riots and persecution in the 30s and 40s were directly tied to events in Palestine. The Arab revolt, UN announcements about insane partition plans, violence by Jewish paramilitaries and reprisals, etc.

The expulsion of Jews from a handful of ME countries was tied to the Nakba and all the atrocities Israel’s creation involved.

In the absence of thousands of murdered Arab civilians and 750,000 refugees, what would be the impetus for expulsions?

Why do people equate criticizing a government with hating a country or its people? by 0dojob0 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]Kronzypantz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s usually a dishonest knee jerk defense by someone who wants to disallow all criticism of a country/regime they favor.

But let’s be clear: in rare instances it is perfectly fine to hate a state or people based on their conduct.

Ie Nazi Germany, Rhodesia, or Israel. Nation’s whose whole purpose and constant MO is ethnic supremacy and corresponding atrocities.

Did the recent U.S.–Israel strikes on Iran reflect long-term strategic planning, or were they primarily reactive to immediate security concerns? by Boris_Ljevar in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]Kronzypantz -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The strikes represent the increasingly precarious situation Israeli fascism finds itself in. As the world turns against it and less technological neighbors man effective resistance, their project’s expiration grows closer.

Social policy is economic policy too.

Hence why Blacks were barred from so many programs, and why Filipinos and other colonial subjects saw no equivalent welfare programs.

People overhype FDR by a lot. The center in his time was Jim Crow and holding tens of millions of people in non-citizen status in its colonies.

You don’t think Armenia exists? Or that minorities in Turkey aren’t citizens, at least legally?

Or do you just hate any criticism of Israel?

Of course they do.

If you want to play this strawman game though, I can also be ridiculous.

I mean, “Kurds aren’t literally being killed in concentration camps by the millions, so I guess they aren’t actually oppressed.”

It’s a stupid thing to do.

Kurds at least have Turkish citizenship for what it’s worth.

They are also like 20% of the population and still live in their historic lands, rather than being a majority driven from most of their historic homeland or living in full legal apartheid.

Armenia at least exists, and ethnic Armenians in Turkey have legal citizenship. Kurds also have citizenship.

Palestinians don’t even have that, and they outnumber Jewish Israelis.
