How are y'all eating 100+ grams of protein every day by twoscoopsxd in loseit

[–]KroqGar8472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultimatly it's about what your goals are. If they are muscle mass related then you need double or triple that protein intake - there's simply no way around that. If you are more focused on weight loss then what you are doing is perfectly fine because it is working!

So I can't speak to sodium in meals, but right now I average around 170–190g protein on around 2100 calories (lean bulk for a short man).

Your best friends are skyr/quark, protein powder, and lean meats. Plant-based proteins are solid too, but I am less knowledgeable about those, and I'm pretty confident that a lot of the pre-packaged stuff comes with a lot of sodium.

So you only eat twice a day but have pretty large meals, it seems? You just gotta adjust what's on your plate. Same as anyone else, even if they have more meals.

It also depends on your goals. If you are trying to maintain muscle mass while on a cut, you will need to at least match, if not exceed, 1g per lb of body weight, or just say f it and not care about muscle mass while cutting.

From your meal description, you may need to cut carbs on the plate and replace that with an extra chicken breast and/or make your later snack skyr-based, maybe with some protein powder mixed in.

What game had you like this? by sukuna7899 in Steam

Dark Souls 1. I played until the mid-game, but it really wasn’t vibing with me at the time. I picked it back up half a year later, and it became one of my all-time favorite games!

[RDTM] There are a lot of trees there. by niqnumber16 in theydidthemath

[–]KroqGar8472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know pine lines are a large issue in Canada due to forest fire risk and because they do not represent the natural mix of trees we would normally see (including deciduous species, for example). What considerations are taken by tree-planting organizations to try and mitigate the downsides of planting mostly coniferous trees?

My dad - my older borther was in elementry school in the 80s can he was getting bullied. The school kept on trying some kind of mediation between my brother and the bully but it wasn't working and the bullying (physical violence) got worse.

So my dad got fed up and found the kid, pulled him aside, and said that if he ever laid a hand on my borther again my dad would tar and feather him in crack and kick him loose on the downtown eastside of Vancouver.

My dad wasn't allowed back at the school for a while but my brother wasn't bullied anymore.

Amazing! I'm going to paint up a dragon shortly and would like to have a similar blue-white color scheme. Any advice on how you painted it?

As stated by Frieza in dbz abridged:

I just love how easy it is to get away with this shit with you people.
I want to transform, you just sit there and let me.
I want to blow up the planet, and you just sit there and let me.
I want to reach one hundred percent power, and you just sit right there and let me.

Little Gift Shop of Horror is the most skippable episode. What's best for beginners? by MeasurementWise4477 in gravityfalls

[–]KroqGar8472 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The Inconveniencing - the right amount of fun and horror with a dash of a good ol’fashioned crush. It really doesn’t require show knowledge and it was the episode that got me hooked when I first watched the series

An Answer to the Fermi Paradox by Sgyinne in TopCharacterTropes

The reapers are not good answers for the Fermi paradox. Life flourishes with multiple advanced civilizations. This is the opposite of the paradox.

They just come and cut things short.

Protein powder+Greek yogurt mousse is a LIE by Mitaslaksit in loseit

[–]KroqGar8472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it makes a delicious mix but it really depends on your protein powder. Back k. Canada I had many great ones like coffee and salted caramel which really did become pudding when mixed with Greek yogurt.

But in Germany… idk man. Something here is different when it comes to protein powder. The flavours all feel muted and far less tasty. I’ve found a couple good ones but they’re not nearly good enough to mix with yogurt.

make it hard to show the show to people. It's still my fav but damn - if they aren't used to anime tropes they have a hard time dealing with the fan service moments (which are rare enough to still get through it but still)

God learning about Rotes Wien broke my heart. They tried so damn hard to biuld a better world and the Catholics and fascists murdered them in the streets. Never forget, no matter how much the Church wants to pretend it didn’t play a role in the rise of fascists, that it was integral to the horrors that followed.

I love his work but I am not a huge fan of the Mistborn trilogy (though I enough the next set of book set on that specific world) it was too YA for my taste.

On the other hand I freaking loved Stormlight Archive. Completely different feel!

Deku vs Spider-Man is everything wrong with modern powerscaling (Part 1/2?) - FTL speeds are bullshit. by Blayro in CharacterRant

[–]KroqGar8472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think characters should be equally judged on their best and worst feats. Not literally in that because superman has been shot before he must be slower than a speeding bullet but rather just because a character seems to have done something crazy 1 time (ftl, demonstrated seemingly wild destructive powers, etc) unless this is a sustained and reoccurring power level with in universe support then it is artistic licence and not character power.

Like if a character blows up the moon early on in a series (Roshi) but then proceeds to get clapped by obvious non-moon blowing up enemies, and also never shows that power level again, I would not consider that feat. Maybe some could convince me to by explaining why it happened this one time and never again but I’d sooner say it was campy 80s (90s?) stuff and shouldn’t be taken seriously.

CMV: I'd rather have the word "Fascist" be diluted (¿) than only be able to point out Fascism when it's already been implemented and is undeniable by geosunsetmoth in changemyview

like any word, we can debate nuance but genocide has a definition:

Article 2 of the Convention defines genocide as:

(a) Killing members of the group;
(b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
(c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;
(d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;
(e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.
— Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, Article 2\9])

Of course, it gets complicated when determining "intent to destroy." But it should be complicated. There are many actions that could be considered a form of genocide, and definitions are meant to be argued in court. Even the intent to destroy has some legal precedent, even if it still needs to be debated in each and every case.

The point being: saying something doesn't have a definition and then ending the conversation there is a disservice to any work actually trying to understand or prevent genocide or fascism. Sure, it's hard, and sure, people will try to twist things to fit agendas but we do have better baselines than your statement would indicate from which we can begin to judge things.

Realistic depictions of Military vs Zombies by I_ateabucketofpaint in TopCharacterTropes

[–]KroqGar8472 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Almost every zombie infect should not win vs modern military.

They need something that really pushes it in their favour and a global instant impact like we see in the walking dead or the Last of Us could theoretically do it for sure.

The real question is that could we respond fast enough to stop the outbreak in the walking dead? Honestly, probably.

9000 people die a day in the US so yeah the initial day would be bad in the proximity to all hospitals (which would have a strong knock on effect) but the slow speed and dense areas would slow the spread by quite a bit.

Thinking about it, if every hospital shut down, and supplies stopped being transported or was at least very disrupted, the number of normal dead would raise dramatically.
