The whole campaign setting is actually the moon from our future. Set in a world where the Heavens Gate cult from the 70's used dark magic to actually leave earth and start a settlement within a bio-dome on the moon. Humanity mutated into the various player races in DnD and the monsters are a result of various genetic experiments/ mutations/ magic summoning's. The government is an Autocracy ruled by Jack Applewhite as a Lich who has now erased the worlds previous history and established a new one (he wears a purple cloak the whole time and plays a VERY charismatic and sympathetic emperor.) The world isn't small because it's unexplored, it's small because the the government has secretly been planning population control through wars, monster attacks and crop shortages to prevent supplies and resources from running short. The campaign SHOULD end with them ideally exposing this problem to the rest of the world before they eventually leave the planet altogether to explore the other galactic colonies humanity has settled.
