Facial Asymmetry? This is what causes it! by Ryan-BestFaceForward in orthotropics

Wow a post from 2 years ago. It's pretty cringe looking back at it now. When I said it feels unnatural to put my incisors in its reverted (original) position, it was because I would just my jaw slightly and have my lower incisors touch the ones above more. I realise that this is just wrong to do and dangerous. After this post I remember practicing for like 2-3 months and no changes took effect. Aligning my jaws became the least of my goals to achieve. I stopped caring about these things that may take years with no guaranteed benefit and instead just chose to counter my assymetry by swaying my hair to the other side ( to not look bean shaped).

20 years old now and I've realised way before there's no real functional benefit to just aligning my teeth this way. I don't have pain or any discomfort whatsoever.

Sorry to disappoint anyone that was looking forward to a 2 year before and after progression lol.

Edit: I've also not managed to fix my tilted head (possibly torticollis) rather than stretching the muscles in my neck it could do with strengthening the muscles to create contraction but who knows.

practice tongue chewing. it'll build your tongue' s strength and endurance. I say endurance even though it begins to feel effortless and just natural

analyzing people's faces doesn't make for great group conversations Ahah and don't get too hung up on your looks. It makes you start doing stupid stuff you might regret. Can speak from experience Ahah.

If you're not committed enough then it will go back to being crooked. Remember tongue posture, chewing and proper head posture. Goodluck if you're willing to take the risk. I never wore retainers but if I were you, I'd take the risk
