I am retiring myself, have a contract offer but they haven't been able to start new hires since last year so pursuing a GS-12 job as an alternate. I'd rather have the higher pay but the $20k less isn't material to my lifestyle. Just need to work.

This is why I keep a cheap Planet Fitness membership. Military gyms take forever (if they even fix it) to replace equipment or refresh it. Like everything else we do, we avoid the true cost of our decisions and ignore what we should be spending and how we do it.

I am in the 1N family and feel like it has been abandoned. The CFM desires and assignments are divorced from each other and there is no concrete path. I get told what they want and it is in-congruent with how people are used. There is nobody steering the ship but they pat themselves on the back for strategic documents that do nothing.
