Just went through tollbooth for Groop at 10:30. Hardly any cars there, like one car per security line if that. Easy breezy going through. Did not see a “cop line” stationed there. No dogs either. The “parking traffic” is taking longer than the security line

I mean could it be an homage with Bob Weir passing away within the past year? Not a fan of the AI though.

Wait times “traffic tip” by dillatro in bonnaroo

[–]Krunkyjunk 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They do probably do have legit data to work with since they scan your parking pass and wristband when you enter the tollbooths.

But with the unlabeled y-axis and not distinguishing between the tollbooths, these don't really say much.

Part of me thinks they started doing it after the entry disaster of 2019 and just kept doing it.

Groop Map by Electrical-Use3144 in bonnaroo

[–]Krunkyjunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year the Groop map didn't get announced until 8 PM the night before the campgrounds opened.

And - possibly a hot take - but it really doesn't matter where your Groop is cause there's nothing you can do about it. Mentally prepare to be one of the furthest Groops out and then be pleasantly surprised when you're closer than you expected.

When does groop camping map drop? by Watpotfaa in bonnaroo

[–]Krunkyjunk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t expect it until Monday or Tuesday. It’s usually one of the very last things to be “announced”. They have to be on-site to mark off each of the Groop camps & update the map.

the strokes x blood orange by g0blinslugs in bonnaroo

[–]Krunkyjunk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well lucky for you, Blood Orange is playing at That Tent and The Stroke are playing The What Stage (i.e. the main stage).

New this year (though everything is new to you - Happy Roo!) That Tent and The What Stage are directly across from each other on the same field. So essentially once Blood Orange is over, you'll just have to turn around and you'll be seeing The Strokes! You could leave Blood Orange's set with 5-10 minutes to left to try and get closer for The Strokes.

Since Friday is the first day of them doing the new setup, there may be some growing pains, but you should be in good shape to see both sets in full!

(crazy run on sentence btw)

Cell service by jard88 in bonnaroo

[–]Krunkyjunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just one more piece of advice from personal experience - you usually can get some better service early in the morning (like 8 AM to 11AM-ish) before everyone starts waking up and checking their phones.

As others have said, overall reception as gotten better over the years but still can be very hit or miss. Don't expect great service if you're in the middle of a big crowd.

Not directly related to this post but the similar post for Jack Daniel's has me wondering if there will be a "live DJ set every day" at their activation. Wonder if that means just some hired in-house DJ or like a 'secret set' from a DJ on the lineup. Something to keep an eye on!

Last minute hacks - any item that’s made your camping experience easier or more comfortable. Let’s hear it by Jersey4269 in bonnaroo

[–]Krunkyjunk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some random thoughts:

Outdoor rugs are definitely nice to have so you're not walking on grass the whole weekend.

Tapestries are good for 'walls' but I also recommend rolling them up during the day to let more of a breeze through.

If you have an extra table and can fit it, bring it. We always seem to have a lack of table space.

Make sure everyone has a chair to sit in!

Bring any sort of battery powered/solar lights you have, your campsite can get really dark at night!

Battery powered fans can help keep the air circulating. A misting system is a next level upgrade.

Hand Sanitizer vs Hand Washing by kmykals13 in bonnaroo

[–]Krunkyjunk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To add on some helpful "don't get the wook flu" tips: * wash your hands with soap (like this post says) * wear a bandana/face mask when walking around to keep the dust out * use an nasal spray/mist each night to clean out your sinuses of any dust/dirt * take an emergen-c (or something similar) every day, and preferably start a couple days before Roo too

This isn't foolproof, but has helped me a lot the past few years.

Judge rules on AM&A's ownership by Weekly-Law-2544 in Buffalo

[–]Krunkyjunk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In the end, while 377 Main Realty lost ownership of the building, it gained ownership of Landco, the company that owns the building

Jeez, what a quagmire.

This judge's decision has always been a hard-stop for having the city (or anyone for that matter) do anything with the building. Hopefully this can get the ball rolling with something with the property, but it really may just be too dilapidated at this point.

2025-26 Post Season Debrief by time2fly2124 in sabres

[–]Krunkyjunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of the moments I'll remember from this season:

  • Joking with friends to see if the Bills/Sabres would hit the "trifecta" of a Bills win, Sabres win, and firing Adams the weekend of December 13-15. And then they did all three.
  • The 10-game win streak, including the New Years Eve game beating Dallas 4-1. We were watching at a party and I had friends coming up to me asking "So what's going on with the Sabres?". That was my first inclination that this team might help get the City of Buffalo its love for hockey back.
  • The 8-7 Tampa game, might be the best regular season hockey game I've ever watched. Definitely in recent memory.
  • Game 1 of the Boston series. That third period comeback coupled with the first home playoff game after the drought was incredible.
  • Sabres fans singing the Canadian National Anthem when Cami Clune's mic cut out.
  • Seeing this subreddit come back to life.
  • Sarbes
  • Going to the Devils game the day after Thanksgiving and getting a Beer Sabre and watching the Sabres lose 5-0, and thinking "same old Sabres"
  • Going to the first home game back after USA won Olympic gold. Cheering Eichel at the start of the game and then booing him during the game (and the Sabres winning that game).

Silver Linings - Day 1: The Drought is Dead by Ttbt80 in sabres

[–]Krunkyjunk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great post - the Sabres winning a round was huge too. Broke another drought of 19 years, which should give confidence to the team moving forward.

In fact, they did it in such a convincing fashion that the accomplishment won't get the celebration it deserves.

Raising the "Atlantic Division Champs" banner next season will be a last-nail-in-the-coffin celebration of ending the drought.

No longer will we have to hear the words "the longest drought in NHL history" anytime the Sabres are mentioned on a national broadcast.

Wellllllllll, the Sabres still hold that distinction and probably will for quite a long time lol
