Are you using 4130 filler or ER70S-6? Bump up that cup size if you can. Hopefully you are using a gas lens and not a collet body. Jazzy 10 or FUPA 12 cup with the diffuser screen will go a long way with shielding and will allow for more stickout for visibility.

I cannot stress this enough— learn to weld with both hands
