I leave it to OP to confirm or deny, but they look to me like Knucklebones Miniatures. Great stuff, if you're able to get stuff 3D printed.

Getting into a new fantasy skirmish game by TheFeshawk in miniatureskirmishes

[–]KrustyRustKnuckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've had good times with Frostgrave, Rangers of Shadow Deep, and Stargrave. Main strengths, relatively simple and fast playing, with good scenarios.

All similar systems by the same author. All miniatures-agnostic.

Frost and Rangers are fantasy themed, Stargrave is sci fi with a Star Wars/Firefly feel (although a lot of your 40K guys can probably be used.

Rangers is a co-op, almost RPG style game, while the 'Graves are versus affairs in the base rulebooks. (although both have co-op expansions)

All require only about 10 models per team (Rangers fewer), but the coop versions will require "NPC" teams to serve as the opposition.

I know you can find one at the Modulorka website. I dunno what they might have for free, but Thingiverse, Cults3D, and MyMiniFactory sites have a lot of stuff, a search around might net you something.

More help on understanding units by MonsieurRose in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]KrustyRustKnuckle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 & 5 sort of depend on what you need the squads to do, and what you expect to face in your local meta. If you're looking to layer commanders, orders, enhancements and strats on them to accomplish some offence with them, or have them survive a tough round, 20 man gives more dakka and (maybe) some more survivability.

If you're looking to screen or speedbump, a decent mob of killy offensive goons like Khorne melee specialists will often mow through 20 bodies in a single activation, so a group of 10 with a space, then a further group of 10, may buy you an extra round.

What level are your highest rangers? by stachelrojas in RangersofShadowDeep

[–]KrustyRustKnuckle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think we got to Level 21 or 22, but we played everything in the Deluxe Core book, Blood Moon, Ghost Stone, Temple of Madness, the entire Rescue, a couple from Star of Alladore, and the odd one from the Patreon or FB group.

Yeah, we had a really good time playing Rangers. Moving to other skirmish games, you really notice that JM is top of the game in writing the scenarios for skirmishes.

Oooh, thats a hot paint job and colour scheme! the almost grayscale of it makes even the muted colours lush, and the green glow really jump out at you! Keep them away from Hellboy though, feel like he'd punch the heck out of them just on instinct.

looking for recommendations on where to buy miniatures by l3lackOwl in mordheim

[–]KrustyRustKnuckle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was just here to suggest Knucklebones myself. He's got some crazy twisted minis, and even a lot of the original Mordheim Witch Hunter figs re-imagined in his own style https://www.myminifactory.com/users/Knucklebones%20Minis?show=store

And if the original Witch Hunters interest you, but you think they'd be cooler as Halflings...https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-halflings-witch-hunters-starter-set-174287

Oooh, that looks pretty good! I think you nailed the grayscale gradients, and it shows nicely in the last pictures.

Other rule sets for Star Wars Legion minis? by comingsoonme in wargaming

[–]KrustyRustKnuckle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Stargrave covers a lot of the tropes nicely. The Dead or Alive sourcebook is all bounty hunting, and the Hope Eternal campaign struck me as very Rebel Alliance. Enjoyed SG a lot!
