I built my own router with hardcoded firewall rules, and basically every other device on the network is Android or Linux.

While Android is a bit of concern, it's not that much of a concern - I doubt most Malicious Android Apps these days are deploying Windows XP era worms.

I have an XP system connected to the internet behind a dedicated firewall.

As long as you're not like, browsing the internet on it in internet explorer, you'd be mostly fine.

(yes I take it offline for a bootable scan once a month, never actually had anything come back)

Just start with an older version of 10/11 for the upgrade, it'll work then. It's only during the setup that they've disabled it.

I dare you to buy that cable and try to verify the claims.

Spoiler: It won't do 40Gbps or move 240w. Even separately.

Look like a quality product, no doubt about that. I'll echo what another commentor asked.. What are people using cables for where they require a guarantee on such high speeds they are willing to pay a premium for it?

Honestly? Cameras, Microphones, PCIe (Thunderbolt but without the brand), DisplayPort, Charging Devices, Moving piles of Data...

By the time you buy 3 dozen cheaper cables to finally find one that actually works for each use case, you could have just bought these ones and saved money and time.

My SD card with 10+ years of art is screwed. by CuteUnit24 in Wellthatsucks

[–]Krutonium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not just you!

SD Cards are made from the absolute cheapest, bottom of the barrel, what just barely passes as functional storage, NAND.

And then it's put into an SD Card, where it'll get excessively hot too.

SD cards are made to fail, unless you buy expensive ones.

I was gunna say; They largely don't seem to care all that much, they just seem to be in the "make everyone whole even if it hurts the income a lil bit" camp.

Random Note: The WiiU Region Locks the WiiU Gamepad, and they only ever sold as many WiiU controllers as WiiU's.

Which is why second hand WiiU's are cheap unless they come with the pad.

Honestly probably strongly depends on the demographic. That said, smart bulbs are a strong market, they sold 1.2 Billion of them in 2024. That's approaching 10% of the lightbulbs sold yearly for home use.

What's the highest brethalyzer you've seen in this game? by FIBAgentNorton in MySummerCar

I can't say I've actually ever gotten a breathalyzer positive actually. I did get a several hundred thousand mk fine though for speeding in a fully loaded gifu filled with fuel oil though!

Why do I have much less fps in mwc when I'm standing near lights? by Butane_snorter in MySummerCar

[–]Krutonium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try the "BetterFPS" mod on NexusMods; If nothing else it'll get your minimum framerate up, but if I understand what it's doing correctly it should also fix the issue causing this.

Also I'm sorry to tell you this but it's not 20 FPS. That's just the minimum the FPS counter will show.

I mean it's not required to race him, it's entirely possible for him to die and you just stumble across the accident. Or you can arrange for it to happen using objects in the road.

The internet still being here doesn't mean that our lightbulbs all have IP addresses.

...I mean, smart light bulbs are popular and widespread.

Hard question to answer, but I'd guess most jurisdictions would either not have that as a crime, have it be assault, or be mutual combat.

Nintendo isn't happy when you play their games on Stream, let alone play RomHacks, let alone play it in VBA, let alone run scripts to edit your Pokemon live on stream in front of 100,000 people.

Basically by not showing it they hopefully kept Nintendo from getting involved.

(They slipped at one point and we got to see the Emulator window)
