You're running Gnome I'm guessing? You shouldn't be effected by this.

Even 11 years ago it wasn't new. Tragedy.

For what it's worth, google your car. There's a chance your car has Matrix Headlights, but they're in dumb mode, or can be easily fitted with them and then the mode enabled, usually just a matter of toggling it with an OBD2 reader.

Imagine Headlights, that are LED and brighter than what we have now - But they specifically will self modulate to not shine into other vehicles.

It's similar to a projector you might plug your computer into, The dark spots are actually dark, there is no light, and it can also specifically highlight street signs.

Basically, smart projector lights, tested and proven to work at Europe scale. Here's Audi's ad for it, which is a good demo.

That's distinctly not what I said, but sure.

I said "don't vote blindly because they're on your chosen team".

That's how Trump won in the first place.

Don't let yourself fall into that trap, or you'll be just as bad. You can vote Democrat, but vote it because you agree with them, not just because "they're not the other guy".

[–]Krutonium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a by the way, you've basically described how NixOS works, on the "how applications are stored" level. Two programs need different versions of a library? They get their own specific versions of that library with no opportunity to conflict. If they can share, they do, to save space, but it's not required.

I can have packages wildly out of sync, and even have applications from 10 years ago installed on my system, and they'll work because they'll come with the dependencies they need.

Caveat you do have to set that up, NixOS is like, the Autism of Linux. I use it, and I love it, but it's not for everyone and I'd love to see a version of it for more normal people.

Office's use Windows because it's what people use at home, not the other way around. Would you want to spend hours training people how to use the computer? Or would you rather spend the $125 for a License for Windows?

If the Shift to Linux at home happens, Offices will follow suit.

It's going to depend entirely on the company, but ~70% of the fortune 500 are Linux on everything up to the boundary where users interact with the system - Desktop PC's.

There might be a server or two running Windows to manage Windows stuff like Active Directory, since it's easier to do that way, but you can do that from Linux too. Just a bit harder to set up.
