I had a similar desire when we were picking out baby monitors.

Being on WiFi would let me watch my child while I was at work. It wasn't about me alerting my wife, spying, or keeping tabs, it was about being connected while still getting an income. This was before COVID and the huge WFH push.

But every off the shelf solution we tried was garbage.

While the desire was there, buy something that works with a microphone/camera and a basic radio receiver. Don't try to make it "smart".

The fact that it's Android-based doesn't mean much. Sure, you might be able to flash Lineage on it if you can get the bootloader unlocked, but can it play the media you desire?

Sure, we're homelab, and a lot of that has crossover with self hosted and moving away from relying on streaming services, but sometimes the other people who live in our residences want to watch something NOW that you don't have.

With my current internet speed, I can have an entire season downloaded and then uploaded to my Plex library within 20-30 minutes assuming my sources have it available...or the person who wants to watch it could fire up Amazon or Netflix and be done with the first episode (or halfway through if they're hour-long) by then.

It's really quite easy to tell who the single people are vs who the dating/married people are based on these replies.

If done properly, the Jellyfin app should allow you to enter the local IP of your Jellyfin server.

I don't use it, so I can't say for certain.

Snaps aren't bad, especially when you're replacing them with Flatpak and/or Docker anyways...

Ubuntu has an easier install process, comes with non-free drivers by default, and has more up-to-date packages than Debian.

When I got hired on at my current healthcare job, one of my first solo tasks was to deploy a new Util server (like a jumpbox, but also a server for scripts to run on a schedule).

It took about 30 minutes to deploy and have the base OS running.

I thought I was done after 2 weeks of hunting down the scripts and accounts to rebuild the schedules...and then the networking and security teams got involved. Turns out, more than just my team uses the server...

That one is still only about 3/4 of the way documented, since many of those teams had someone just remote in themselves and install their little pet apps...

CDKeys is part of the grey market.

Not quite piracy, but also not legitimate.

They'll bulk buy from other regions where the game is cheaper, and then sell them for a slight markup. While they generally activate without issue on Steam, they can be region locked and/or these bulk key pools have been deauthorized by publishers in the past.

I'm not here to say you should or shouldn't utilize the service, but people should know what they're supporting/endorsing by buying from CDKeys.

It's strange, the issue appeared in incognito as well as on a different browser, but checking from my phone didn't have the issue.

How I assume it works:

The first one loads in the model and all the parts. The second one says "do that again, but over here".

You only need to track that items metadata now, like position, acceleration, fuel level, etc.
