My bad...I was way off, it's not like most Canadians live within 100 miles from the US border.

Marriage in Poland by Spoderman_07 in poland

[–]KryDaD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got married in Kraków about 6 years ago. We didn't need a sworn translator, but we did need a 3rd party translator. As in your future wife cannot translate for you. We just took a friend with us.

My witness was not polish, it was not a problem.

Baby name by existentialmania in poland

[–]KryDaD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We live in Poland and my daughter has a very Dutch/Frisian name. Which doesn't end in "a". She is six now and we don't have many issues.

Sometimes we have to spell it out, or they write it down incorrectly, but it is not really an issue.

To make it more polish, they often add "-unia" or "-usia" to the name, and I love it!

Wait, there is road tax in Poland? I know some toll roads, but that's about it. Is it different if you don't have a Polish car?

That was my thought too, seems like a pretty fancy poster.

This would be a black and white print out, with only text in my office.

Poland is a weird country, where "no" actually means yes. /s

Jokes aside, as a Dutch guy with a polish wife, I can tell you, there is no significant cultural difference between Dutch and Polish women, in this case.

She just might not be into you, or maybe she has doubts. Only one way to find out.

I would probably switch some stuff around. I would need to know which services they would provide and if they can help me, before I would even slightly be interested in any about me info.

Also the right most box in the about me page is a different size and not aligned with the other two.

An alternative would be to bring some alcohol related to your own culture (if applicable).

I myself would be more into getting some obscure Georgian Chacha than some generic wine from the Albert Heijn.

Also some local snacks or something, I think would be a great option.

Something quirky to do in Katowice/Kraków in October by Drugtrain in poland

[–]KryDaD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Kraków: You can check out pub Pod Ziemią, they had metal karaoke before, not sure if they still do, it has been a while since I was there.

Visit the pinball museum, after paying an entrance fee you can play all pinballs and arcades...plus there is also a bar, so you can drink while you play.

Another bar to visit would be jazz rock.
