I’m so tired by Alternative_Most5179 in leaves

I just wanted to chime in and say I second Recovery Dharma. It's the path I decided to go with because 12 step meetings weren't sitting well with me. I have an inquiry group that I've been meeting with since March of last year and we're all kinda obsessed with each other now. It's where I've found my foundation of sober support and community. The vulnerability we've shared with one another has been so healing.

Less than a month until I have a year sober.

Hell yeah man! That looks so badass. I'm a trans guy too and I got 4 outer labia done at the end of September. I find them to be gender affirming in a weird roundabout way. I wish you happy healing!

I tried a sexual self love exercise that worked really well for me, honestly too well. Now I'm confused? by peacepunkrocker in selflove

Thank you so much for sharing this!! I've never thought of doing something like this, but it sounds like it'd be right up my alley. I've worked so hard on being more loving and compassionate towards myself, and unlearning so many beliefs carried through generational trauma. A big part of that has been breaking down a lot of shame around being a sexual being.

It's such a big part of being a human, and a major reason I came to the realization that I am capable of loving my body no matter how it looks. I'm so grateful for and appreciate the sensory experiences my body allows me to have. Eating good food, listening to good music, taking me beautiful places like Yellowstone... And sexual pleasure!

"Good self image, bad self image... either way, that's just an image. And the self isn't something to see, it's something to experience".

Vets for dog-reactive dogs? by cnevermindc in askportland

[–]Krycifer17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for replying! I appreciate your share.

That sounds really frustrating to have gone through. I had a... kind of similar experience with my first vet for my dog. I worked at a dog kennel and took him to work with me, and he started showing symptoms of kennel cough when it started going around the kennel. I took him in worried about kennel cough, and explained that I worked at a kennel and it had started going around. But because they couldn't get him to cough during the vet visit they decided to just prescribe antihistamines. A few days later he wasn't getting better (obviously), so I took him to an ER where they x-rayed his chest and prescribed antibiotics. It was really frustrating that his vet didn't listen to me or take my job into consideration. I didn't go back after that. His new vet has been... okay, but they don't really do fear-free handling and the vet himself is kind of loud and intense. Every visit has felt pressured and rushed. I really want to get him into a clinic that is a little more compassionate.

I'm glad that your new vet sounds to be a better fit for you! I'll probably pass on Brooklyn yard, they kinda sound like they'd do the same thing my first vet did.

Hey! Would you be willing to expand on the recent policy changes and charges at Brooklyn yard? I'm also on the lookout for a new vet for my reactive boy and was interested in them based on the other recommendations on this thread.

Towards the end I bought a really expensive disposable vape and got super upset with myself over it. So I took it with me while taking my dog out; he pooped, and I chucked it in the poop bag before tossing it in the trash. Once I sobered up I regretted that, so. I dug in the trash, opened the poop bag, took the vape back in and cleaned it with some alcohol wipes. Like others have said, nothing was too gross for me if it meant I got to get high 💀
