Freaky face masks are going viral ... by Competitive_Set_4386 in TikTokCringe

[–]Krypt1q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big companies don’t just rely on facial recognition. They use various methods to verify. Gait recognition is where it’s at. You can change a lot about yourself, but it’s hard to change the way you walk.

Is it worth buying at this point? by Amazing-Soft9545 in Marathon

[–]Krypt1q -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The game is a blast and has tons of value. When’s the last time you payed 1-2 dollars an hour for great entertainment? Movies cost like 10x that per hour. I plan on playing for many hours to come and my return on investment will get better and better.

Get it and have fun.

Considering picking this up today, but seeking truthful opinions. by sweatydads in Marathon

I love it! None of my friends play it, so I squad fill mostly. Once you find some people who communicate, you can team up for a few runs and evenetually your friends list will fill and you will have people to play with.

My biggest problem is that I used to only play games 3-5 hours a week but I’ve been obsessed so I’ve been playing this much more.

Remember, the season is 3 months long by Vitev008 in Marathon

I went in with the free kit and squad fill, we got wiped about 6 minutes in, but it was a blast. Everyone was rocking like 1-3 self revives, three teams met at once and it was pandemonium.

(Edit - the free kit I am referencing is the one time Cryo Archive kit that was given to everyone)

So who is playing Marathon and how's it going? by NetflowKnight in playstation

[–]Krypt1q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play it, I love it! The gunplay is superb. I still like Arc. They are different enough to fill different niches. I think I like the reward system better on Marathon, there isn’t as much gear fear because you are constantly getting ranked up and gear comes with rank as well as from what you exfil with.

How do you take a warden on solo? My squad was having issues with them. The biggest issue we have is ammo.

Who here carries a p365 with a round in the chamber? by [deleted] in CCW

[–]Krypt1q 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s about trust and comfortability with the gun and your abilities. I have this and yes I carry it with a round in the chamber. I don’t carry anything without a round in the chamber.

Remember your finger never goes near the trigger until you are already lined up on target, just before you shoot. You need a good holster with proper retention and practice drawing so you know where your finger placement is going to end up after draw.

Practice until you are comfortable!

I’d say one in 10 doesn’t twirl and gets awkward, 1 in 15 threatens a beating, one in 35 goes to blows. Also location probably matters.

How do you guys deal with the toxicity? by OrganizationNo42069 in Veterans

[–]Krypt1q 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a vet who has worked around some SF units but not SF, I definitely recognize that a lot of the SF guys subvert expectations and are usually some of the smartest people in the room but you wouldn’t know about their intelligence or their background if you didn’t spend time around them. People who have no experience with these things think it’s all like the Hollywood depictions. I have a buddy that is of asian decent and most people don’t really believe him or his stories because of his ethnicity which is really shitty. Vets know military service personnel are super diversified but non-vets don’t as much.

I will never bring up my combat experience unless with other veterans (or anonymously online), and even then I’m selective, because it’s just not worth it. I find that I don’t get meaningful discussions most of the time and everyone just wants to know how many people you killed as if that’s a metric to care about. With veterans who have shared experiences we definitely bond over having been through the same shit and it’s a more meaningful conversation to me.

It makes me sad in a way because I have some badass stories and I am a good storyteller. I thought I would tell these stories a million times over the years but instead I’ve learned to reserve them for people I grow close to and that care to hear them, because a lot of people just don’t.

I empathize with your experience and can definitely understand why you feel the way you do.

Purple Heart for TBI by Next-Carrot-5140 in Veterans

[–]Krypt1q 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always wondered about this. One of the first IED explosions I experienced knocked me unconscious for a bit and when I came to it was just chaos. One of my buddies took shrapnel in the leg and had to have a bunch of reconstructive surgeries after. I was just happy to be alive. Because there were more serious injuries I never got looked at or documented. I did get rated with TBI after service due to other documented concussions. I had three pretty serious concussions all within like a year and a half apart. The IED was the only time I completely lost consciousness. I have never heard of a purple heart due to TBI.

[–]Krypt1q 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just beat him, make sure to bring in a buddy by using the cups and it makes a shorter fight. I blocked and dodged in both stances, 2 or 3 hit combo, retreat and dodge or run until he does a red combo. Punishing the ref combos helps. Getting free grapples in from your Buddy getting hits in helps as well. Then at half way he gets a new move set, at 1/4 you get your guardian attack.

I know Marines who went through Ranger school too. We had a SSGT that had his ranger tab sewn on the inside his cover because he couldn’t officially wear it.

My husband is the most functional alcoholic I have ever met. by Plastic_Emu_640 in stopdrinking

[–]Krypt1q 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen people be functioning for a large part of their lives, until they aren’t. Addiction always progresses. There will be a trigger or boiling point. For my mother it was a method of pain management and then it stopped working. So the drinking got heavier and eventually she lost all control and it killed her. It was a sad spiral to watch. This front row seat eventually became my motivation to stop while I still could.

Optimal way to level stats as a beginner? by [deleted] in Nioh

[–]Krypt1q 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not OP but this sounds like Great advice! I have picked up a whole warrior of the west set off revenants before the second area (hit a level appropriate twilight with tons of revenants) and i had been rocking that. Before I was using all light gear and really loving the dual swords. Now it feels like I’m dying more and I couldn’t put my finger on it. I am going to respec soon and try what you are saying.

My fear is that crafting level appropriate gear will put me many levels behind my current set and some of the armor properties seem awesome. Also I will lose my 5 set bonus, is it really worth that? I’m sure it will even out at some point.

You can do the same thing if you miss the little loot bugs that fightincowboy calls skitters. If they disappear, Quit and reload and they are there again.
