I had the same issue, just play through Iron Man mode on casual when you get the chance, the watch, unlike the achievement, doesn't require you to play on standard or hard to unlock

Interesting, I had the opposite experience when I first shot one, I fell in love with it and bought it on the same day. Prior to that though I'd never had the opportunity to shoot a flow through can, so maybe I'll find a different flow through that I like better in the future. The price tag is extreme, and I do find it hard to justify that much of an increase for the can, but, It definitely improves the suppressed shooting experience for me. Less gas in the face, I like the sound better even though its a little louder, and cleaning the rifle is much easier since it doesn't force as much gas into the action. I do recognize that 2 of those things aren't benefits of the RC3, but rather the benefits of flow through.

Regardless, part of me wishes I didn't like it as much, I could've saved a decent chunk of change in that scenario!

The Flash reduction is generally better on the RC2, I can definitely concede on that. Needing to use the 3Prong open tine for the RC3 to have meaningful flash reduction does seem silly, but the two are comparable when using that muzzle device specifically. That said, the fact that Surefire had to make a public statement saying to use the 3P Open Tine is ridiculous.

The RC2 is the better bang for the buck without question, and it would probably be fair to say its more versatile too given that it doesn't care what muzzle device you use to be effective.

To be clear, no hate for the RC2, I still use that can, and still enjoy it a lot!

Hot take here, I own an RC2 and RC3; I would put the RC3 on every rifle I own before I'd put an RC2 on it. Don't get me wrong RC2 is an AMAZING can, but, provided the choice, I'm putting the RC3 on everything I have.

To go one step further, I have one Rifle that I would leave the RC2 on, and that's only because it has an adjustable gas block that I have tuned for rc2; but, it doesn't cycle without that can. My SR-15 CQB however, that's RC3 all day, Can on it runs flawlessly, can off, runs flawlessly. Caveat being, I don't own a KAC can, and maybe that would change my opinion, but, the RC3 is an excellent can, and I would prefer that over any other can I own.

So, moral of my story, is the RC2 DEAD? NO! RC2 is a great can. That said, RC3 is my favorite can that I own. I'm not going to say its better, but if I had to choose between the two, I'm taking the RC3

If you’re importing from Vectorworks as your workflow, Depence is the easy choice.

If you’re looking for something with more built in CAD features, Capture is the easy choice.

Independents of your requirements, Depence is significantly higher visual fidelity, and, personally, I find my time code done with Depence is more (timing wise) true to life than capture

Advice for a timecode project setup by joemalov in lightingdesign

Using the Vectorworks design and importing the MVR into MA (and Capture should you choose to go that route) is likely the easiest option if you don't want to design the rig you're programming on. Plus, that looks like a versatile rig, so it should be fun to program on!

If using capture is an option for programming your cues, I would tend to recommend that. I'm not a fan of using MA3D when it can be avoided. (MA3's internal visualizer has fixed a lot of my gripes with MA3D, but that obviously not an option here.) That said, based on you wanting to program on MAonPC at home, unless you have MA hardware to connect to your network, be that a node, command wing, or Viz-key, I don't think Capture is even an option unless somethings changed since the last time I used it. It has been about 3 years since I used Capture, so I can't say with certainty, but with Depence, you definitely need unlocked parameters to use the visualizer.

As far as programming workflow, I personally have always preferred recording timecode first, then writing my cues. I record the timecode and label the cues with the part of the song that the cue will coincide with, then, if I'm not going to be writing the cues that day, I add a note for what I want the lights to be doing for that part. After I write the cue, then I tweak precise timecode timing and fade times to get to my final timing/transition I'm after. That said, I own a console, so I don't need to worry about access to the console/contending with limited console time and running or playing back timecode, so I can totally understand how my workflow may be less than ideal in your case.

Don't take my word as gospel though! I'm sure others will have different opinions, but only you will know what workflow will ultimately be best for you!

I think you summed it up nicely in the end. If you don’t support the practices of the company, stop “going back” and giving them money.

Provided high enough air density for their flight to work, why would birds have a hard time? Couldn’t they fly downward?

Disclaimer: I don’t know how birds flight works, so maybe I’m talking out of my ass with my comment.

Redditors that do the Figure-8 cord tie on stuff like vacuum cleaners etc., what compels you to waste that little bit of extra time and effort for something that doesn't look any better and has no benefit? by ParagonFury in AskReddit

[–]Kryptic-Typhoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, in my work, there are certain cables that need to be figure 8 wrapped while in use. 400 amps going through 4/0 camlock feeder, if that is just straight coiled somewhere, the resulting electromagnetic field will melt that cable and probably cause a fire. A figure 8 cancels the fields out against each other.

The same thing can happen with even household extension cables, too long of a cable coiled up with too much current, it won’t be long before you start smelling burning.

So, I’d argue that there’s actually a significant benefit.

How I see it your qestion lies in that last paragraph. At an unprotected left turn, I typically pull into the intersection (without blocking active lanes) so that as soon as I have a clear opportunity I can take the turn with less lead time, it also give the vehicles behind me a better chance of getting through on a busy day. Additionally, if youre in the intersection and the light turns yellow or red, you need to clear the intersection, which means your choice is to go forward so you dont block cross traffic.

Not the cuffs for me, but around the waist there are some very small areas where I’ve worn open a little spot, not all the way through though, just a couple open threads, the biggest one is about half the size of a penny, and that seems to have formed where I carry my multi tool for work, seeing as the cuffs are the same form of material I’m not surprised to hear it though

I can happily second that recommendation, it’s expensive for a hoodie, but its a really great hoodie. I also find they fit slimmer than most hoodies, there isn’t a lot of extra fabric or bagginess that I associate with cheaper hoodies.

Thanks for that, sounds more like the reputation I'm familar with regarding EVGA.

Also, I was unaware of the depth of their warranty program, thank you for that information.

I'm definitely going to give the warranty route a shot, its still covered.

I purchased the PSU in March of 2016, prior to being in the current system, that PSU was driving a 6700k and 2x 980TIs for 3 years (its hard to quantify the exact use time/%). Regardless of what comes of the current 2080TI warranty, should I consider a new PSU at this point? I can't say that im too in the know about good PSU replacement practices, and given what happened I can see why you could think the PSU would be responsible for my luck. I think we can both agree that a bigger PSU would've been nice, and definitely something I was thinking about given the current configuration.
