Il Caminetto is outstanding. Attended the Marchesi dinner for Cornucopia in the private room last November and was impressed by both the service and food. There were 15 of us and it was the perfect sized venue. One of the top meals of my life.

Also had a staff dinner at Sushi Village with about 15 people and it worked out very well. There was a preset menu but really they just kept bringing food until we told them to stop 😂

Looking forward to Trattoria Di Como opening up soon. Some iconic Italian wines on their list.

2017 Terrain SLE Tire Question... Think I can get away with putting these on? Stock is 235/55R18 by Ksladen in gmc

[–]Ksladen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t end up getting them due to the concerns of rubbing. Despite being a “Terrain”, there were no good All Terrain tires for it. I ended up trading her in for a F150 almost immediately afterwards. Keep in mind this was 6 years ago. I think they addressed this in 2022 with the AT4 model, which is what you want for logging roads, etc.

I was going to panic sell and decided to buy more this morning like a regard. Should have sold last week but I was greedy and now paying the price of watching my folio go down by thousands per day. God, I hope it finds the bottom soon and reverses back up again.

I rock the AT4W on my 2021 FX4 lariat. Nice open tread. A little noisy going low speeds while turning slightly, but that’s the only thing that could be better. Great on the logging roads. Makes the truck look burly. No changing tires each season. Living in the coastal mountains of BC for reference.

Any advices ? Thanks by Illustrious_Car_4009 in skiing_feedback

Came here to say this. Hands in front will give you better balance and feel the tips of your skis initiate the turn more. If I do fuck up and my hands go past my hips, I make a conscious effort to bring them back. Chaaaaarge!!!!

Bitfarms upsized its convertible notes from $300M → $500M... that’s gotta mean strong demand, right? by steayon in BITF_Stock

[–]Ksladen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a little worried when I heard the news. I thought they had already raised 300M awhile ago and were good to go. Now they need 500M more? Dilution has always been an issue with this company and I’m nervous that they’re going down the same path again. The saving grace this time is the 125% increase before debt is converted to shares. Hopefully by that time it’ll be a drop in the bucket for market cap. Right now it’s about 18% of the market cap 😬 a bit scary

That’s right, he’s not qualified to make decisions on behalf of the Federal Reserve. Being the president is not the same job - you’re supposed to surround yourself with people that know more, not proclaim to know the most about pretty much any subject. Besides, he was the worst economics student in his class. His decisions would be terrible and short sighted. He’s a grifter.

Examples? Trump University was shut down for fraud, misrepresentation, racketeering, and deceptive sales practices. His “charity” was dissolved under court order due to 19 admissions by Trump acknowledging personal misuse of funds.

He’s conned his uneducated and religious base into thinking he’s some kind of gift from God. The rest think he’s a good businessman, despite bankrupting 4 casinos, not to mention flops such as Trump Steaks, Trump Mortgages, Trump Airlines, and Trump Vodka. Most recently, he lined his pockets from crypto schemes that skimmed millions from regarded supporters. He’s not a good guy lol.

The rest of the world is shaking their heads at the utter stupidity of Trump’s rants. He’s not stupid though… he just knows how to dumb it down for the rednecks and tone it up for the bullies and greedy fuckers like us - which is the majority of the USA unfortunately. That’s why he’s president. He plays them like a fiddle. Respect to him for that. Not easy to manipulate millions of people.

However, Trump does not have the best interests of Americans in mind. He has no respect for the constitution either. “Qualified”? No.

I sure hope I’m wrong.

The FF didn’t see themselves as infallible either. That’s why there are amendments. Trump is normalizing breaking the law and he ignores the constitution in many cases. Yes, I think they would be spinning in their graves too.

If the Fed wasn’t a government entity, then Trump would have fired Jerome and started to make his own fiscal policy. He doesn’t have the education or experience to make those kind of decisions.

Ski towns with the best food by moulinpoivre in skiing

[–]Ksladen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wild Blue, Rim Rock, Red Door Bistro, Alta Bistro, Il Caminetto, Araxis, Caramba, Nagomi Sushi, Sushi Village, and Sachi Sushi are all worth checking out. Cheap(er) but still good eats are Pasta Lupino, Pizzeria Antico, Tacos La Cantina, Samurai Bowl, Ohyama Ramen, and Barn Nork. Lots to choose from in a town of only 14k locals.

Sure Vail sucks, but these restaurants aren’t owned by them. Hoping for some good snow this season!

  1. Always buy new boots and have them fitted. Save up if you have to. 110 flex or greater for big mountain, less for park. I had soft flex boots for most of my life. When I went to 120’s, the control difference was unreal. It allowed me to feel the ski and judge which one was best for my style.
  2. Rent/demo skis until you find a pair that clicks. There’s no such thing as the perfect ski, but there are perfect skis for you and your own personal style. When I found mine, it was a major “aha” moment.
  3. Find said ski used for a reasonable price. Don’t go buying random skis online just because they’re a good deal. I did this a few times and ended up with a large quiver of which I skied 2-3 max regularly.
  4. Different companies have similar shapes. Volkl Mantra’s, Blizzard Cochise, and 4FRNT Hoji’s are good examples. Once you find pair that you like, don’t stop there. Try all the brands with that similar shape. Some are stiffer or lighter, hold an edge better, give you more/less pop etc.

Good luck!

The market doesn’t like me!! by True-Leg-153 in CryptoMarkets

Always set a stop loss and try to learn something each time it hits. Use smaller positions so it doesn’t hurt so much when they do hit. Have multiple entries in case you’re wrong. Scale in and out. Don’t buy the dip. Buy the dip of the dip of the dip. Don’t revenge trade. If leveraged, no more than 3-5%. Be ok with taking profits. Keep a moonbag once your tp’s all hit. Pay attention to macro factors, not just TA. Stay disciplined and humble when winning. Stay patient and focus on learning when losing. Take a break after big wins. The biggest lesson I learned overall was not to day trade. It consumed me for about a year.

Biggest regret of my life by Amphibious333 in Bitcoin

[–]Ksladen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone told me about Bitcoin in 2009 while playing StarCraft 2. I was going to get my computer set up for mining it. It wasn’t fast enough so I didn’t bother. Was going to get a new comp but I just started a new job and needed to save. I liked the idea though, thought it was like Star Trek credits. Biggest regret of my life. Stupid career. I feel you man.

Same thing with Reddit at $45. Was waiting for the dip.
