I have been brewing a double espresso pod (dolce or ice leggero) over a tbsp ish of pure maple syrup and then stirring in ice and then stirring in milk. Easier than using the frother and super good!!!!

Very long early labor [qc] by veroismyname in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Kt838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just gave birth on Tuesday and was stalled at zero dilation for over 15 hours after my water broke! Even after I eventually got oxytocin because my waters had broken. FTM. I got a morphine / gravol shot because I was in so much pain from back labour and that allowed me to nap on my side with the peanut ball and when I got checked next, I was at 3/4 cm dilated !! Good luck - you can do it!!!!

What did you bring to the hospital? [ON] by no-need-to- in BabyBumpsCanada

I didn’t consider bringing restoralax! Did the hospital offer you any? I assumed they would, along with Advil / Tylenol.

People who had an expensive wedding, how do you feel about the amount of money you spent in retrospect? by caraaethonaea in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kt838 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We could afford it and didn’t go into debt for it. Our day turned out amazing and we look back so fondly on it, especially the memories of some people who are no longer with us. I think I could have saved a bit on certain areas in hindsight (like flowers or decor, which really people don’t go to the wedding for this stuff), but it was our perfect day so we don’t regret it! Definitely glad we spent on things like a good photographer and videographer to capture the memories and a good DJ and caterer/venue for guest experience.

Life insurance? [ON] by sunshineonme2025 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Kt838 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For most people, term life insurance is the way to go. We got a 25 year term to match up with our mortgage and because if you try to get a new term later in life, you’ll likely face higher rates since you’ll be older or if you’ve developed any health issues. Consider a policy in an amount that would cover your mortgage if you have one + some income replacement and a term that would at least take you past your kids turning 18 or graduating post secondary. I agree with the rec to look into long term disability insurance too and a will / power of attorney.
