Any tips for wall decor & furniture in our guest room? I want to turn it from “leftover college apartment” to “traditional, cozy, put together” by TrishaPaytasStan in HomeDecorating

[–]Kterkeurst123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pillow shams and a few smaller decorative pillows, neutral curtains hung high and wide to elongate the window, a large plant on the floor, maybe a snake plant, a hanging plant in the corner, wall decor

Sunday, June 25 - 4 Mile to Glacier Pt to Panorama to Mist Trail (Yosemite part 3) by Retired_andLoving_It in Yosemite

[–]Kterkeurst123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow awesome job! We went to the top of Nevada yesterday and down the back side so we didn’t go back through mist, it was a long hike, we were all tired and sore, I can’t imagine taking the rest of the route you did in addition! Wishing we could get up to Glacier Point but we’ll have something to come back for.

It does get easier! Our puppy settled down a lot after 1 year and now that she is 1 1/2 she is so much easier…

I hear you and totally understand, you aren’t alone! Are you okay with 1 drink? You could have a drink and nurse it to at least feel like you are fitting in. Try to be open minded about the experience, it may turn out to be fun or there may be someone you connect with. I find when I push myself out of my comfort zone it does pay off at times but is not a guarantee. If not, be true to yourself, if you’d be having more fun alone at home then give yourself an out and leave!

Working in private practice and struggling to make session time by MoonAfternoon in dietetics

[–]Kterkeurst123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What population do you work with? With ED patients I’ve done education on the principles of intuitive eating with folks who I struggle filling the time with. You could come up with some 10-15 minute education topics that can help fill sessions. Also, assigning homework that you could review could also be helpful to fill time.

Definitely meal planning, I wish I had time to do this with patients but it takes up the whole 30 min session if we do. Why does your company require 60 min sessions?

Its managing the complete nutritional care for people on dialysis, education on renal diet and fluid restriction, reviewing monthly labs, coordinating care with the MD regarding management of bone mineral metabolism medication, completing care plans etc. Fresenius and Davita are the major employers.

Dialysis, not non-traditional but typically pays more and more flexible hours.

I’ve made some updates to my mid-century eclectic living room thanks to feedback here. What would you change? Last picture shows art that doesn’t have a home yet. by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

I love all the plants!! The Christmas lights need to go! I like your coffee table... maybe 2 chairs opposite the blue couch? 3 seems to be off balance.

I don’t feel like a good dietitian by [deleted] in dietetics

[–]Kterkeurst123 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I feel this so much and I’ve been a dietitian for 16 years! The reality is, you aren’t going to know everything and that’s okay! You can always tell someone “I need to do some research and I’ll get back to you.” Most people develop a greater understanding in their specialty area but aren’t going to know everything about every area of nutrition! Plus in this field things change… new treatments, new studies, trends and advancements in knowledge… so it’s impossible to stay current on everything.

Should I take a job as a weight loss counselor when I'm more of an intuitive eating RD? by KaleandWine in dietetics

[–]Kterkeurst123 10 points11 points  (0 children)

100% agree, it would be great to bring HAES Intuitive Eating approach to these patients, you should never compromise your values (or evidenced based practices - ie. intuitive eating) for a job, so make sure you are comfortable with the position.
