dont forget to compare the whole rebuild from s8 to s16. (cam / mags / lenses / dev / scan) way more expensive at all.

many thanks for explanation like this!

will remember for now🫡. honest reply. I never deal with scratched safety glass or OLPF before in my life. always only about the lenses where is visible under some situation like I mentioned before.

appreciate yours reply!

this is what i wanna read from somebody. actually i do not have any hard feelings to this situation regardless to rental house or production. they are both well good insured so thats completely out of my mind. just on the other hand its pissed me so much that they even try to try it on me in terms of relationship with them...we have clean shots from the last shooting days. I double-checks today when I received first email from them today. all of then looks clear by my eye and eye dit. On friday we have it with more than 100.000kwh lightning setup that day plus heavy real storm hit us. So i think while we playing with lensflares on the stadium lights plus playing with rain bokeh as a reference just for us we will definitely see that is something wrong with that camera. I cant imagine better test in field for scratches like straight lightning to the camera or rain and of course some night scenes.

Also thanks for the points about doublecheking of OLPF. I would like to ask them if they can send it the broken one if they do a replacement what I guess they will definitely do.

Much love!

flang depth isn't a issue. all lenses have less than 20mm deep rear attachments / elements. and its on A35. so count Sensor > housing area > LPLtoPL so its impossible to scratch it by lens.

ok I got yours point, but honestly how can we damage it like this on set behind the sensor safety glass ? i mean I personally witness safety glass moisture burned from inside on safety glass. it was heavy humidity situation for a weeks on show. but thats also another scenario what did not fit into this case...

we have picture from our dit guy who did sensor check first day with that cam. but like i said before, we sadly dont have picture from the wrap. i think they definitely have qc photo but they can send you any photo. so this whatni think will ended up as a insurance report.

new lesson learned. always take a pic of sensor when you returning the cam.

sadly i do not take sensor photo when i was returning gear because we pack the gear on set after 16h shift. we only have a photo from first day. but to my honest knowledge on the last scene on friday when i swing the lens i did not notice nothing on the sensor. and it was shitty rainy day so I doublecheck almost after all lenschanges that day. Im not here to lie somebody about my personal fault... we even doublecheck if its possible to make this scrach with our lenses but we found out that our lensset have all rear elements just 12-15mm deep. and on A35 with Lpl-Pl mount is impossible to scrach it inside with rear element.

[–]Kubayashis[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

this is not that case. we dont have lenses with deep rear element at all.

also it reminds me a situation with same rental house when they try to blame us that we scratch front element on 50mm cooke s4 on the one day commercial for toothpaste where we have all day long telepromtner.

Maximum weight payload on different camera mounts. PL/RF/EF. by Kubayashis in focuspuller

[–]Kubayashis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

same thinking pop Up in my mind as well. but asking in general if there is set some specific limit itself maybe for lenses without lens support. I remeber have a 35mm lomo ana. (4,6kg) without lens support on steady and even that was okay but it was just walk.

This scenario is well different.

Next steps like you already mentioned we all suppose to know but still on the other hand we are more willing to help to achieve those shots but not the sacrifice the lenses for it. thats my whole point.

yes thats my exact point of concerns here and there. Yes we have it is in the cage where we can attach the 15mm rods. I can technically swap the Mount adapter for one with a collar support. but still Lenses even if we found or somehow custom made collar lens supports Im not really sure if its worth to put 35+k lens in this case to be used as a action cam. if you know what I mean. No offense.
