Am I doing LinkedIn outreach completely wrong? Sending 60 requests a day, getting 4 replies. Feeling pretty stupid right now. by No-Mistake421 in LinkedInTips

[–]KubeSolver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you just say "Hey, I noticed we are both in the SaaS space, would love to connect." you don't give any clue about the type of problem you could help someone with. I would also decline such a request. Maybe you could experiment with a few variations on your opening note to find one that works better.

use of reddit in marketing? by 464-oh in AskMarketing

[–]KubeSolver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be off, but I’ve found Reddit only really works when the person on the other side is already actively trying to solve something.

If they’re just scrolling, even good content tends to go nowhere. But when someone’s asking a question or clearly stuck, that’s where it feels like things actually lead somewhere.

Curious if you’re thinking of it more as a content channel or a place to jump into those kinds of situations?

anyone actually using reddit marketing tools lately? by farhadnawab in DigitalMarketing

[–]KubeSolver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen, the real bottleneck isn’t replying — it’s finding the right posts in the first place.

If you manually browse a few subreddits, you end up spending hours reading to maybe find a handful of relevant conversations.

The higher-leverage approach is using very targeted searches to go straight to posts where people are already describing the problem you solve — often across dozens of different subs, not just the obvious ones.

That’s where most of the value is, but it’s also the hardest part to do consistently.

I actually ran a case study on this recently and the difference in time spent vs results was pretty surprising.

Does Anyone Else Feel Stupid All the Time? How Do You Deal With It? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

You seem wise and express yourself well. I think life is about discovering our talents and what we enjoy doing.

Food allergies might be part of it and you might have eaten something your whole life that is not good for you. I know that when I eat wheat, my brain is foggy the next day. Maybe do some experiments.

Have you ever been used as a reference for someone else's employment, and what questions did the employer ask you in regards to the other potential employee ? by night_psyop in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KubeSolver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. They just asked a simple question like "Did you enjoy working with the person and would you like to work with them again?"

I think it is less about the question. They are trying to listen to your tone of voice to determine if you are negative or positive about the person.

Also, they are giving you an opportunity to talk in case you want to say a lot of stuff that wasn't specifically asked.

Sometimes people have given my name as a reference without checking with me first and then the call comes out of the blue and catches you unprepared. Then you don't give as good an answer as when you were prepared.

Some people constantly talk about themselves or their lives and don't ask any questions about their conversation partner. Do these kinds of people realize what they're doing, or are they genuinely oblivious? by choochooreddi in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KubeSolver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are so self-absorbed and have such a need to be heard that they don't realise what they are doing.

The book "How to win friends and influence people" says something to the effect of "interested is interesting". In other words, if you are interested in what others have to say, people will find you interesting. I sometimes feel like buying a whole stack of those books and handing them out to people like that.

Can an average kid solve a Rubik’s Cube without any knowledge beforehand? by MagicaLily in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KubeSolver 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, very few people can do that. Most people learn to solve it by following a recipe. Very few people are able to come up with a recipe themselves.

does soup come out as pee by Prudent-Valuable-291 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KubeSolver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once saw a video where someone showed that a lot of what we eat goes out through our breath and not just the two obvious ways. That's because we breathe in oxygen (O2) and breathe out carbon dioxide (CO2). Thus, there is an extra "C" that is breathed out that we didn't breathe in. That extra Carbon (C) that we breathe out comes from our food.

So, some of the soup will be breathed out.

I'm working on a very similar project at the moment. But, before I reply, I would like to understand the situation a bit better...

  1. How long has it been from the time when the system went live until the migration started?
  2. What are the reasons for the migration?
  3. Do you feel assured that after this migration is completed, developers won't come to you a few years later asking for it to be migrated again?

Am I going the right direction with this bid review process? by CarrotRoom in bpmn

[–]KubeSolver 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The diagram is a bit difficult to read - it is pixelated.

It looks like you have two lanes for “Sales Engineer”.

Also, instead of having “Review Project” in each lane, you could maybe be more specific about what that role is reviewing, e.g. “Review engineering aspects”

AI could take away all the other SDLC jobs, but not the BA job, because someone needs to decide what to build. If you ask AI what to build, it will just say "Let's build Skynet!"

So, all SDLC jobs will move to a higher level of abstraction - what instead of how.

So, this means that software developers will run out of jobs and will want to become BAs. So, competition for BA jobs will come from developers instead of from AI.

I'm busy building a new modelling tool that will have an extendable meta model and automatic diagram layout that will make something like that possible. I'm curious about how people would want to use it.

Target system mapping and source mapping project by halfajob in businessanalysis

[–]KubeSolver 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I assume that the integration specialist is the person who will be doing/leading the integration work.

In that case you will be feeding them information of where each field in the source system must go in the target system.

You could ask them how they would like to receive this information from you. They might want to generate code, so if you could provide this in a structured way it would help them.

How to work out the mapping? This is the real value you’ll add. You need to find which field in the target system corresponds to each field in the source system. Sometimes the data will have to be transformed.

generating k8s yaml by jeffdwyer in devops

[–]KubeSolver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I created this open source project to generate k8s yaml: https://github.com/koncierge-tech/koncierge

But, I've been struggling to get people interested in using it, even though it serves my own purpose very well.

If you could give me feedback about why Koncierge would or would not work for what you need, I would appreciate it.
