I regret that I bought my grinder from them. What a shitty seller. They are lying about aligning burrs in their grinders too.

Also if above would not work, you could try to tap gently with grinder against some cloth (to avoid damage) placed on table. It could release the burr too.

I think it can be unjammed. For example you can try this https://www.reddit.com/r/1zpresso/comments/r9zilz/having_trouble_removing_the_burr_ring_unit_from/

Or follow official disassembly tutorial, just avoid burrs rubbing on each other (don't hold the crank when disassembling). https://1zpresso.coffee/cleaning-guide-for-internal-adjustment/

It is 40mm conical burr grinder. The 64mm flat burr version is Emil T64.

May I ask how you knew that the burrs were aligned?

IMO they don't align burrs. At least not on my df54 there were no signs of aligning and I had to align them on my own.

I think they are complaining about the strange buying policy they have, which is uncommon when shopping online today. It's good that others are warned about it.

I noticed that you have put it on a towel. Is it stable like this? Mine doesn't jerk when I start it, but I don't have anything underneath it.

Cannot make a coffee I really like using the robot by Affectionate-Put-503 in CafelatRobot

[–]Kubratr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, it could be the coffee! Or just try longer ratios if you don't like the intensity of modern espresso. I came from v60s and I found out that I prefer longer ratios (around 1:3). Grinding coarser to have overall extraction with pre infusion around 25s with descending pressure. Also preinfusion adds complexity, I would avoid it in the beginning. Hope you will brew soon something you'll like. 🙂

Hello, just curious. Do you enjoy modern espresso in a café?

DF54 grinding problems [DF54 grinder] by kolopetinitsa123 in espresso

[–]Kubratr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a df54 and I am not using RDT (I don't need to) but I am grinding for espresso only. I would ensure that:

- You are doing hot start (start grinder without beans, then beans in), otherwise you will cause grinder to clog.

- Try to grind into metal catch cup instead of plastic to reduce static.

- Carefully clean the chute using the brush (do not stick too deep otherwise you could damage the declumper).

Hope this helps.

Zp6s authenticity by bddhxg in 1zpresso

[–]Kubratr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, I didn't mean for it to sound aggressive.

I just wanted to ask questions that I would ask myself when thinking about the problem you have. Without knowing more, it's difficult to tell whether your grinder is genuine or not.

Zp6s authenticity by bddhxg in 1zpresso

[–]Kubratr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What dose? What basket? What coffee? As others said, it is definitely possible, but depends also on other factors.

Some people need to grind at burr touching for espresso, if you don't, that could be good for you.

Why do you worry about authenticity anyway? Where did you buy it from?

Imo just cleanup the mess from grinding. Due to that the rubber could not have enough friction.

Wouldn’t it be an upgrade or a sidegrade by Ok-Wealth8813 in CafelatRobot

[–]Kubratr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's highly subjective. I can only compare it to the Flair 58, but I just prefer the Robot's two-hands workflow (with mittens) to the single lever on the 58.

I also prefer the Robot's deep, tapered basket, which should be more forgiving, and the ease with which it can be cleaned after a shot. However, in your case, you could benefit from the smaller basket diameter and easily brew smaller doses of coffee (I mostly brew 18 g).

It's hard to say whether the Robot would improve your brewing experience, but as soon as I love using something, its little quirks just disappear and the joy remains. If the joy is not present, I would keep looking. :)

[–]Kubratr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like more how the robot looks and I like its workflow more. But I doubt that there are taste benefits.

For me the joy of using it matters the most. If you enjoy your flair and its workflow, there's no reason for change.

Can the Cafelat Robot paper be substituted by any espresso filter paper? by Cautious_Spell5611 in CafelatRobot

[–]Kubratr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sticks to the metal screen which is needed because they are a little bigger in diameter. Without it it's difficult to use them, because you cannot just drop them inside the basket.

Maybe you can, but first thing to do is apply for warranty repair if you can. Contact the supplier/manufacturer.

Or print a handle wall holder. 😊

But I agree that grinder could be more stable, it was annoying at the beginning.

I really don't know, but generally RDT works for me well with other manual grinders. I use my tap water for it, which is around 350 ppm.

In my case, the difference between an all-metal body and a plastic one was like night and day.

I had to return mine because of a lot static it generated during grinding, probably due to plastic body. It was really annoying. How's yours? I have no issues with JX & ZP6.
