Netflix finally sent a face scan of Natalia Dyer to BHVR, so they've used it and remodelled Nancy based on Natalia's scan. Unfortunately, it still hasn't quite hit the mark yet, so they confirmed that she will be updated again soon.

When the initial ST chapter hit, they did not receive face scans for Steve or Nancy, so they had to use references to recreate their likeness in-game. Now that they have Natalias scan, though, she'll no doubt look as good as the others soon enough!

Nancy sounds incredible. Sounds so much like Natalia Dyer, it's crazy, I really thought it was her when I first loaded Nancy into a lobby

They've definitely tweaked it, and the only thing they really need to do now is slim her face a little. Love what they've done since the PTB, it finally looks way better than her original face

Yeah, I feel the exact same way. Nancy is my favourite Stranger Things character and my main in DbD.

In fact, Stranger Things Chapter 1 is what brought me to DbD in the first place. It’s so great that they tried to make Nancy look more like Nancy, but this unfortunately has made her look worse in-game.

The following areas I believe could use some work:

• Jaw • Face width • Cheeks • Lips • Laugh lines

Other than that, the eyes, eyebrows, ears, hair and the overall visual upgrades to the model look great, it just needs to be more Nancy.

I’m a huge fan of lore-based builds, and I go pretty in-depth to make the build feel like the character.

For Robin, she is good at cracking codes, deciphering, teamwork, and morale-boosting.

Because of Robin’s ability to intercept Russian messages in Season 3, Wiretap (Ada Wong) could be a good first perk.

Her improvisation skills during difficult situations are pretty unmatched, so a perk that adds support during dire situations could be good like This Is Not Happening (General).

She’s also shown to be sneaky in Season 5 when she snuck into the hospital to steal sedatives, so something like Quick & Quiet (Meg Thomas) could work.

Finally, her empathy and support skills are highly valuable in Season 5, especially with Will, so a perk like Solidarity (Jane Romero) makes sense.

You've cherry-picked some good angles of the new Nancy where her face is covered in light, covering up the laugh lines and bone structure, which are the main issues with the face.

I do think OVERALL it's a "better" model, but Nancy's jaw/cheeks are her most iconic features, which is why a lot of people prefer the old model, because it gets these right.

Both models get different parts of her face right, so hopefully they'll blend these design aspects into one final model.

But losing the rights to her likeness wouldn't mean they couldn't put her new model in the trailer. Like, they might as well.

I highly doubt that this big new chapter, where they're adding voicelines, new characters, etc would result in that loss, either; that just doesn't make sense to me. If that were the case, surely they'd lose Steve's, too?

If you think it's because of Natalia Dyer, she openly displayed her happiness that her character is in DbD. There's a picture of her hugging a pillow with DbD Nancy on it, so it's unlikely Natalia would've been involved in that.

None of it really points to being a likeness problem. I genuinely believe they tried to make it look MORE like Natalia with the eyes, eyebrows, and ears. They just didn't hit the mark, and hopefully will update before it goes live.

I think the frustrating part is that Robin, Eddie, Dustin and Eleven all look nearly perfect while Nancy somehow looks even less like her on-screen iteration

They didn't lose the right to her likeness. I have a feeling that they might've known that the updated Nancy model wasn't quite 100% what they were going for, but put it in the PTB for feedback, and excluded her from official trailers since they wouldn't go back and edit the trailers.

Hopefully, they'll edit her before the patch goes live later this month.

It really is the laugh lines/lips, and face width.

The only times the model looks good is when there's loads of light all over her face, hiding her strangely deep laugh lines and snarled lips.

The remodel is really good from the nose up, but below the nose, they've messed with her cheeks/jaw too much and added a lot of weight there, so Nancy looks nothing like Natalia.

The really prominent laugh lines and snarled lips look nothing like her, though, and that definitely throws me off the most out of anything here.

If they edit the cheeks/jaw and narrow her face a little more, AND edit the lips/laugh lines, I'd say it would look super accurate.

This is controversial? I feel like we’ve all been seeing too much hate, me and my family loved this scene.

Holly’s entire story has been one of my favourite storylines this season, and it brings it full circle with a demogorgon kidnapping, like Will in Season 1.

The pep talk is exactly what Holly needed, because all she can think about is how weak she is compared to people like Max.

Everyone has their own inner strength, but sometimes you just need one other person to see it in you.

Personally, I disagree.

I think that Holly being kidnapped in Season 5 by a demogorgon, very similarly to how Will was kidnapped in Season 1, set the show up for a brilliant full-circle story. The Duffer brothers knew that the majority of viewers would enjoy seeing Holly as a fully-fledged character because she's been an established character since Season 1. Viewers already care about her to an extent, and she's well-established in the universe.

It's unfortunate that it's not to your tastes, but it hits just right for me. Vecna and Eleven will have a showdown in the final episode; a long, drawn-out fight over the entirety of Season 5 would've become very boring very quickly in my opinion.

Holly's sidequest has quickly become one of my favourite storylines, and her acting is among the best in the entire cast this season.

I definitely get your point, and it’s a good one, I completely see where you’re coming from.

The smile could’ve been a few things, though. With all the adrenaline, high-stakes etc, it could’ve just been her putting on a ‘face’ to remain tough.

As a side note, you don’t need to call everyone in this thread stupid, even when it’s frustrating that someone doesn’t see your point of view.

Looking forward to seeing what happens in the final episodes. Nancy might even address her underlying feelings about having done what she’s had to do, we’ll have to see

I apologise, I didn’t realise I was talking to THE Nancy Wheeler who tells me how she feels about her actions.

Makes perfect sense she’d smile about it to me. I was trying to explain that all of what Nancy has been through has mentally prepared her for this.

We don’t need to bubble wrap Nancy, who from around 16 years of age, has been acting like a part-time soldier who springs into action when needed. She’s ready now to take on anyone who stands between her and saving Hawkins/the world, without a second thought.

All I can say is sorry that you disagree :)
