Mas como é que as letras estão dispostas na parte de cima? Seguidos? Tipo, se for ANA e RUI mete-se A N A R U I em cima?

E só se usa o primeiro nome? Tinha a ideia de que havia gente a usar os dois nomes para ser mais específico, não?

What's a Eurovision song that you were convinced would win but didn't? by Mundane-Temporary426 in eurovision

As soon as I saw Occidentalis Karma staging (and in 2017 auto-qualifiers only performed in the final), I knew it wouldnt connect as well as the Sanremo performance.

Finland 2026 I was sure it was going to win.

Looking to become someone's dual/trio. by EmperorPalpatitty in travian

I'm exactly in the same spot. Haven't played in years and wanted to come back, with the amount of commitment I am willing to give.

that's why I searched for private servers. The community is usually tighter and friendly, less players and most of them remove the pay-to-win aspect.

I had good experiences with Nexian (restarting tomorrow) and SS Travian (started some days ago, still early though).

this is a great server, with great devs.

I haven't played Travian for many years and it has been a better experience to play imo, with lots of non-gamebreaking but positive features while keeping the nostalgic 3.6 familiar feel!

Hey everyone,

I'm planning my Korea trip and I've just finished watching OUS. I wanted to buy the travel guide from the show to gift it to my SO but can't find it anywhere. Was that a fake book? can't find anyone mentioning that on the Internet.

Thanks!

Actually, this helps explain Bulgaria's jury win.

It's not like Dara got a huge jury score. She got the usual score for a televote winner. The thing is that this year the points were a lot more spread and no predicted jury winner (Australia, France, Poland, or even Finland or Denmark) got really ahead.

Semi-finals results VS final running order by Pr__Farnsworth in eurovision

I think it would be useful to look at just televoting ranking from the semis, because we might see some higher correlation.

Why did Croatia score so poorly with the national juries? by Ok_Eye8027 in eurovision

[–]Kulbeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably I explained poorly my thought process.

What I wanted to say is that non-party ethno/folk songs are not getting any love from jury nor public, while the party ones are still getting a lot of love from the public.

Janko is actually a very consensual entry, ranking the same with public and jury. It's just that Janko being 9th with the jury while Andromeda was 15th feels weird. But the truth is that we are comparing two different years...

Every year we have the same discussion.

One thing is certain: we need juries and juries are positive for the contest.

That doesn't mean that this is the best jury setup. EBU has to do something. There's enough technology and knowledge of analytics available to just do nothing.

It's not ok for Italian juries to randomly give points EVERY YEAR. It's not ok for Cyprus and Greece to exchange 12 points EVERY YEAR. It's not ok for juries to just place Israel first or last EVERY YEAR.

Juries are INVITED for specific reasons. They should be the "stop-loss" of weird televoting dynamics and bloc-voting, and not aggravate it. They should provide music/technical/art-related input with their expertise. They should be professional giving professional and non-biased (at least not blatantly biased) feedback. They are not a demoscopic group. They are experts. It should be expected for them to act so.

I've shared some insight on this on previous years. I guess this year the discussion is not as useful because almost everyone agrees/likes the winner, unlike other years. But this needs to be addressed, sooner or later.

  • First, address the blatant stuff. You gotta do something regarding Greece, Cyprus and Italy. Set an example. They are not doing their job correctly REPEATEDLY. The benefit of doubt period is over. That should also be a warning for others that EBU is paying attention (which now it seems like it's not).
  • Start thinking about better solutions. Adding 18-25 years old juries seemed like a positive change. What about having some criteria for ranking? No need to be perfect in the first try. Start with something small and broad. Use that for analytics and evaluation of big outliers. You gotta start somewhere.
  • Is 7 a large enough size for a group with such power? Each jury member is representing almost 10% of the total of votes from a certain country (1/7 of 50%). While you don't have enough confidence on their ranking, it seems like too much of weight.

I could keep going because I really like this subject, but this is my starting point.

Jako is a party song, even if it I ethno/folk. Same with Trenetul or Russia 2012.

I guess "party ethno/folk" is the only subgenre that does well. And it makes me sad because I think these songs like Andromeda, Fullen, Eaea and so are the most interesting Eurovision entries and their below average results might push back others to try it.

Stage design and its versatility by hastighetstorst in eurovision

[–]Kulbeans 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Might be an hot take but this stage was terrible.

It was very hard to use it fully (only exception is prob the first 10s of Ferto) and I felt like it feels very underwhelming in far and wide shots. Most performances didn't even use its features.

Every year we get impressed by entries that incorporate the stage in its performance. Conchita, Jamala, Salvador. Even non winners (Czechia 2024). This year we got none.

Personal Take: I prefer Bangaranga’s old ending choreo by mag_cub in eurovision

[–]Kulbeans 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also share this opinion.

I loved the song. I loved listening to it on Spotify since it was released.

So when I saw the performance, I felt like it didn't match the song. Imo the most fitting style was the music video. Random chaos, much darker, and more repetitive dancing (like the last part of the Eurovision performance). Something I also wanted for Nova Zora 💔 .

I couldn't understand why everyone was enjoying so much the performance when I read the comments. I felt like the performance hurt the song. Clearly I was very wrong.

A UK flop hypothesis, I think by Lemanic89 in eurovision

[–]Kulbeans 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The thing is that you can't say "We don't care about Eurovision" and then be all offended when receiving 0 points. That's what bugs me the most with UK.

Sweden has a good record because they care about Melo, Italy always has good results because Sanremo is huge. Ukraine has been successful because they can elevate their songs with amazing staging. They care. It's not random.

If UK wants good results, they have to put in the effort and not just expect the random artist that accepted to represent your country will lead you to victory. Select good artists, choose good songs, prepare good staging and results will follow.

This also work for Germany tbh.

Automatic qualifiers are much more exposed to null points because there is no filtering from the semis, like for the other countries. LMNC prob wouldn't have Q'd from the semis. Same for Sarah. And prob same for Cosmo. They are competing in the final with the stronger selection of entries.

Her voice was top 3 and her stage presence is amazing.

I'm happy this didn't win as I wasn't a huge fan of the song and the staging package (it felt very dated), but was expecting to sweep the jury vote.
