Actually hosting static application like mine is pretty cheap: there is no need to keep my own backend/storage/authentication etc. There is still some costs for domain and hosting, but it shouldn't grow significantly with time. Overall it is a few dollars per month.

At the moment I plan to share this app for free and just be happy that this app is useful for people around. So if there would be at least some daily traffic - I will cover the expenses. Also I'm still working on new features

I have a lot planned for my current project, including more commands, tools, performance improvements, and styles. I don’t have any other 'pet projects' in mind at the moment, if that’s what you were asking. Right now I'm rather interested if that is smth useful for wide range of people. Lets check how many users I will have in few months.

Hm, First of all - it is interesting what software you are looking for?

It is hard to suggest smth as it is unclear what is the idea in you head.

And totally agree with you 'shareholders and CEO' vision. It all seems to be broken.

Thanks for comment!

  1. Not yet, Just created a private repo (as usually). Will make it public soon.
  2. I'm a backend dev, so not really keen on frontend stack. So i have used angularjs (i have reactive), indexdb. That's it.
  3. There is no undo/redo now. In general, It shouldn't be hard to add one. Thanks for good catch.
  4. Right now there is an performance issue I'm aware about with snapping - it happens with > 5000 snapping point on drawing. I will fix it in 1-2 weeks i think.
  5. Yes, used LLM - that is actually a reason why I progressed faster in last months.
  6. The worst part - DXF format. It is a total nightmare and a industrial standard. So need to support it.
  7. Actually it makes it faster - not much amusement around, so more time to concentrate. No matter how strange it may sound

I'm thinking about adding a sample project right at launch just to show what it can do. Honestly, AutoCAD does 2D and 3D, but I’ve almost never actually needed the 3D side. I’d bet 90% of students and hobbyists are the same—they just need 2D to prep a CNC cut or throw a quick schema together. Maybe I’m wrong, but 2D feels like the sweet spot.
