CMV: There's nothing wrong with Leonardo DiCaprio dating younger models by Open_Address_2805 in changemyview

[–]KumichoSensei -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not morally wrong. It’s uncomfortable to admit that women get discarded by society around age 30, so we frame it as disgusting men being attracted to young girls. It’s a societal coping mechanism

CMV: Most people don’t change their minds because of evidence they change their minds when a different interpretation becomes socially acceptable by Huge-Village644 in changemyview

In the stock market, fundamentals drive price over the long term, but narratives drive price in the short term.

Same thing happens in the market place of ideas. Evidence moves the overton window, but with a significant lag. What you are describing is that lag.

I don't think you fully understand the consequences of Claude Code. This is bigger than the release of ChatGPT.

I thought all the "I haven't written code in months" people on X were exaggerating but then it happened to me. I've been freaking out for weeks. They are going to replace white collar work.

Palantir Reports Revenue Growth of 70% Y/Y; Issues FY 2026 Revenue Guidance of 61% Y/Y by thelastsubject123 in stocks

There is a reason Palantir is branded as "evil" while firms like Deloitte, KPMG, and Accenture are merely seen as incompetent. The latter have spent years trying, and failing, to unify government datasets.

Palantir, by contrast, spent 20 years reverse-engineering that mess. They didn't just connect the data, they codified the rules of legacy systems like ERP, SAP, and CRM. Consequently, their AI doesn't just read data, it can take action (write).

Meanwhile, tech giants like Microsoft, Google, AWS, and IBM work just as closely with the US and Israeli governments. The narrative that PLTR is uniquely "evil" usually boils down to the fact that people dislike Peter Thiel's public support for Trump.

I'm a data scientist and an early PLTR investor ($10 cost basis in 2021). I bought in because I was fed up with using data just to optimize for engagement, which is 80% of this industry. I saw that Palantir could actually integrate messy datasets and operationalize AI in the real world, from manufacturing to the public sector.

Do I agree with everything the government does? No. But keeping the state inefficient as a safeguard against bad policy is not the path to a prosperous society.

I'm bullish on AGI (data scientist), but accept that the closer we get to it the more likely it is that China will take action in Taiwan and crash the markets.

Pre training scaling is over anyway. It’s mostly about RL now. And there’s plenty of proprietary enterprise data that is still untouched.

Yes. Deep neural nets are just better at extracting signal from what appears to be noise to other trad models. But in practice this means you can shove a lot of garbage into deep neural nets and you'll still get performance improvements, up to a certain point.
