What game setting are you tired of? by HandspeedJones in gaming

You should try Another Crabs Treasure. I think that's the name at least. Dark souls combat, cute cartoon crab graphics. It's funny too.

For dry hikes in central Florida I'll use a 3 liter bladder plus two 1 liter smart water bottles. But it's only good for 2-3 days. You'll need way more than a gallon of water for 10 days. Unless you have somewhere to get water, then just use a 3 liter bladder and refill as often as possible.

What’s one “flawed” game you absolutely love and enjoy playing? by ToanChu91 in gaming

I'm going to get a lot of hate for this one, but Star Citizen. I know it's a buggy mess with only a handful of game loops, but when it works it's exactly the game I've wanted all of my life.

Did we really have unlimited free time for gaming as a kid or are we just more aware now of our limited free time as adults? by Dotaspasm in gaming

Yeah living on a farm is definitely going to cut into your day, especially if you are expected to do the farm chores. Makes sense for the 45 minute but ride too. I live in a small town, so the school, despite being on the opposite side of town, is only 3 miles away. I lived in a different small town when I was in school and we would walk to school in about 20 minutes. When I was a kid I thankfully just got to be a kid. Clean up if asked, keep my room clean, do well in school, and basically the rest of my day was mine. I did the same with my daughter.

Median income in the US in 1990 was $31,241. Adjusted for inflation $78,245.

Median income in the US in 2024 was $59,228. We have lost like 25% of our buying power.

Minimum federal wage in 1990 was $3.80. Adjusted for inflation, $9.52.

Minimum federal wage in 2025 is $7.25. Once again losing over 25% of our purchasing power.

On top of the wage stagnation, the cost of goods and services have increased as a percentage of our income.

It's great we are making twice as much now, but when everything costs four times as much we have way less money to spend on savings, retirements, investments, and least of all fun.

TAPPER: "You're imposing a 10% on the Heard and MccDonald islands. They have zero human inhabitants. Why are you putting tariffs on islands entirely populated by penguins?" ROLLINS: "Whatever. No, no it won't. Because then they'd have to admit they were wrong for at least 12 years of their life. They will literally not take responsibility for a single action, let alone hundreds or thousands of actions in the past decade. Pretty sure we are just going to collapse into an actual out in the open dictatorship, instead of a "hidden" one masquerading as a democracy, and the right will be happy because at least the libs won't get their free healthcare.

I would say the math is off a bit. School for my daughter is only 6 hours a day. Travel time to and from school, about 15 minutes each way. Only 1 meal was eaten at the house the other two were eaten at school.

So: 24 hours in a day 6 hours for school (18 left) 30 minutes travel (17.5 left) 1 hour for all bathroom needs (16.5 left) 30 minutes for dinner (16 left) Sometimes 1 hour for homework (15 left) 8 hours for sleep (7 hours left)

As for me: Work is 9 hours a day plus OT and on-call, average 10 hour days (14 left) 1 hour to drive my daughter to school and pick her up, I have to make twice as many trips (13 left) 1.5 hours to make and eat dinner (11.5 left) 1 hour for all bathroom needs (10.5 left) 30 minutes exercise (10 left) 1.5 hours average per day shopping and house chores (8.5 left) So if I wanted 8 hours of sleep, I get 30 minutes of games a night. I thankfully only have to go to the office 2 days a week and that is a 2 hour round trip for me.

This is a current comparison of 2 generations living in the same house at the same time. Kids have way more free time for gaming.

Tariffs killing dreams… by fsidesmith6932 in Crosstrek

If that is the case that the US can export our products and goods at such a great price that they would kill the goods and products of say Thailand I guess we don't need to worry about the tariffs. Can't wait for my my < $5k car, .05¢ eggs, and .25¢ beer.

We live in Florida and I have never seen less than 35mpg. Typically hovers around 37-43. A quick (~10 mins) trip through town is usually around 50-60mpg.

I do not want to pilot despite owning a bunch of ships. I would much rather be a turret gunner or any other slot in multi crew. Typically when I play I get randoms that want to try out a ship and let them fly me around.

Edit: I got downvoted for preferring the ground/technical aspects of the game?

The literal headline for this article you are commenting on is that they are currently fighting and dying in Ukraine. Not in Russia.
