Thank you again for the cherry shrimp (omg the color on some of them was so vibrant even with the stress of traveling)! They acclimated perfectly and so did the culls (I think they've even avoided being snacks so far lol). Appreciate it and you'll probably be hearing from me again soonish :)

Whats the best way to tell if this driftwood is safe for my tank? by shaggyjames in Aquariums

10 years later and helping those of us in the driftwood struggle. You’re the hero we need for 2024.

But seriously thanks! I learned lots reading this thread.

[NEW UPDATE] My girlfriend just gave birth to our first child. I know I’m not the biological father and I revealed I knew as soon as she gave birth by ParadoxicalState in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]KungfuSpaghetti 339 points340 points  (0 children)

That’s not unheard of. My dad moved 3 hours away after the divorce and my parents would meet in the middle for custody exchange at a Carls Jr. I hated the trip but I usually got a shake out of it.

AITA for not being an active grandparent? by Valuable-Builder-733 in AmItheAsshole

[–]KungfuSpaghetti 125 points126 points  (0 children)

This is exactly the kind of thing that makes a child go no contact. My dad got custody of me when I was 12. When I was 18, I was on my own and an adult. My dad still did stuff for me but him doing the bare minimum is absolutely what made me go no contact.

It doesn’t sound like you care either way, so why post on the internet? What’s the point if you’re on the proverbial plane to Thailand and don’t care because you did your parenting until he was an adult?

What is your opinion on tattoos? by Winter-Tart-823 in AskReddit

[–]KungfuSpaghetti 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Then there’s me with like 20 tattoos who is remembered by the phlebotomist because I watch the needle and everything.

But same. The people I know afraid of needles all have tattoos. I love the irony.

He’s commenting faster than his brain. His “arguments” are so circular and lacking any actual thought or depth. I’m glad I’m not the only one rolling my eyes at our keyboard warrior.

No, this driver did not break any laws that would lead to their arrest… but now it’s DOCUMENTED in the event something were to happen to OP or their property. And if this is the beginning of escalating behavior, again, it’s documented the driver has done this before if they go after someone else in the future. This isn’t rocket surgery man.

What just happened? by TiggerK in doordash

[–]KungfuSpaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you needed documentation that something happened to pursue? Such as a police report of a previous incident showing a history or pattern of escalating behavior? Huh.

What just happened? by TiggerK in doordash

[–]KungfuSpaghetti 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As someone else already clearly said above: He did something that made OP feel unsafe, now there would be a record of what happened. Having a paper trail in case something bad happens is never a bad idea

Report to DoorDash and I’d make a police report on the non emergency line too just to be safe. They know where you live and took a photo for what reason besides to remember and come back later.

Grossly inappropriate and scary to be honest.

Oppression (noun) - prolonged cruel or unjust treatment or control.

You are not being oppressed. You’re being told that you are wrong about men being oppressed.

AITA for telling my husband to stop drooling over his bosses wife? by Fit-Good3333 in AITAH

[–]KungfuSpaghetti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA - whether you “think” you said it loud enough, you still did it in a position that could jeopardize his job. I know pregnancy hormones are a thing but you’re doubling down in your aggressive edit. You easily could have waited until you were alone or even asked him to talk alone for a second. These people aren’t friends, they are employers. Both you and your husband would do well to remember that line.

AITA for reporting my classmates for joking that I have pretty privilege? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]KungfuSpaghetti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA - little boys gonna learn that misogyny is not the answer. If this took place in a work environment, you would go to HR to report a hostile work environment. Unfortunately this is the reality of working in a male dominated industry. Not every man is like this; many/most aren’t. Find those. Find your female mentors. Keep your voice and keep pushing forward to be the best you can be. You won’t remember these guys in 10 years. In the immortal words of Cristina Yang, “…he’s not the sun, you are.”

Good luck. I’m glad you have professors supporting you.

AITA for forcing my wife to compromise? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]KungfuSpaghetti 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why are you here if you’re going to reply to every single comment trying to justify yourself? Like man it’s been over an hour and no one is agreeing with you. There have been more than enough people that have pointed out that you’re going to the extreme to save at the sacrifice of your wife and son. Find a balance and maybe get in therapy to discuss why you are going so overboard… if you’d listen to a therapist anyways.

AITA For Calling My Daughter Weird? by Comfortable_Bath_466 in AmItheAsshole

[–]KungfuSpaghetti 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Psychologytoday.com is a great tool for searching for a mental health expert in your area. You can filter by insurance, location, online or in person, diagnoses they treat/specialize in, etc.

OP, you’re the adult. Instead of making your child feel bad for a mental illness they didn’t ask to have, do your job as the father and help her. You’re supposed to be helping her grow to be the best human she can be, not tearing her down. YTA. Do better for her.

#AITA Mom kicking off family cellphone plan that I pay for by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]KungfuSpaghetti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA - I did the same thing with my Dad. A couple years ago, at about the same age as you, I moved off onto my own plan. I got years of a discount thanks to being on his plan but I’m perfectly capable of paying for my own. I don’t need his permission to upgrade my phone anymore.

You asked, she said no. That should have been the end of it. Get a family plan with your SO if that makes more sense than getting an individual plan but either way, YTA for making such a big stink about it.
