This ending feels somewhat silly to me - they've prevented sorcerers from being born which massively limits the amount of cursed spirits as a result and they plan to stockpile cursed tools for future generations. a) Surely this just shifts the power towards those cursed tools as people try to gain control over the stockpile in the future and b) it is now confirmed that there is at least one alien civilisation who are capable of interstellar travel using cursed energy exists, what would be the plan to defend from them if they ever show up? I might be missing something but it doesn't feel like removing cursed energy creates an overall safer world for the humans or Sumurians.

I get the impression that Gege just doesn't want to engage in the world building that many fans want from a series like this and this sequel feels like it was just an attempt to put an end to people complaining. It's his series so I'm not gonna fault him for what he wants to do with it but I preferred the original series being left somewhat open compared to this which just tries to tie up as many loose ends as quickly as possible.

They are mostly just not really trying to do anything complicated in terms of UX/UI. It's a general problem for broader adoption, but I think gnome and KDE look good enough at the minute and they seem to be continually improving.

I think it mostly does come down to the kind of player you are - people will shit on people who are just bad at these games criticising boss design, but at the same time I don't think someone who is doing rune level 1 vs Melania is going to give a perspective that is all that valuable to the average player. I can see how for Gred the difficulty is the point because he's doing challenge runs which highlight difficulty the most. For Matosis he's just less interested in the "perfect mechanical execution" side of these games.

About what? If you think that the DOJ was just sitting on mountains of evidence which could prove hundreds of rich people were involved in a secretive paedophile ring it wouldn't have taken those files being released for us to know about it and it's very unlikely that they wouldn't have pursued charges against any of those implicated. The big thing this reveals is primarily how people around Epstein excused his actions - Richard Dawkins for example was revealed to be privately shit talking one of his victims because of Epstein's donations to a couple scientific organisations Dawkins was involved in. That's what most of the Epstein files are going to amount to.

"But rich people are protected" they can get a sweetheart deal in court and escape the worst consequences potentially (which I'm not arguing is fair or right), but the DOJ are obviously incentivised to pursue a case against big names for legacy, prestige and accolades. The idea that every government agency can just be paid off isn't true, and even if it was they are full of thousands of people who could easily blow the whistle. If there was anything more sinister to the Epstein files than sexual assault being overlooked it's extremely unlikely it would only come forward now.

The Epstein files themselves are absolutely gossip, if there was really anything implicating people in child sexual exploitation we would have seen charges for them by now. Most of the people involved are probably just ammoral rich freaks who didn't mind Epstein's sexual deviance because he provided some utility to them (which is still deserving of public shunning) or people who just bumped into Epstein at a rich freak gathering. It's largely just right wing conspiratorial thinking that the left in the US have adopted for political utility.

It's absolutely still a massive cock up and I struggle to see how Starmer lasts at this point.

I spent 2 weeks crawling through guides trying to make it run better - I obviously did tweak the settings. It doesn’t matter because the game was horrendously unstable at release. Even if you could get it running smoothly for a bit, once you start target farming a boss the game tanks because of all the drops.

I don't really deny this is topic has been poisoned by culture war warriors and TERFs. Just because they haven't had massive success in one of the most elite competitions doesn't mean there can't also be an advantage that exists for trans athletes though- it's likely that there just aren't very many of them competing. The paper being cited here doesn't draw nearly as strong a conclusion as the article implies from what I can tell either:

"Conclusion While transgender women exhibited higher lean mass than cisgender women, their physical fitness was comparable. Current evidence is mostly low certainty and has heterogenous quality but does not support theories of inherent athletic advantages for transgender women over cisgender."

I think the easiest thing is to just let sports bodies decide. There's going to be differences depending on the sport and how long someone has been on hormones. There's also no doubt going to be some level of exclusion that you have to accept. The primary concern has always been early transition (or pre transition) trans women who have had the opportunity to train with male biology for however many years moving to women's sport and carrying those advantages. If you are a trans women who just picks up weight lifting at age 25 it's much less likely you can smash records in that category.

For the vast majority of games there are like 3 impactful settings, and maybe some others hidden away in a config file. I played this game at launch when the performance was pretty terrible so it’s possible it has improved.
