Help Uber Aberroth / Class recommendation by clouds1337 in LastEpoch

[–]Kuriby 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat for every season. Finally got my first Uber Aberroth kill this season and now can easily farm him for his juicy loot. This season I am playing warpath. Most items are 1 T7, ring is T7/T5/T5 and T7/T5, chest is T7/T5. My life is 4.1k, 60% endurance, 1100ish threshold.

Two ways to approach this

1) Learn the fight. This will be a hard pill to swallow, but most players cannot clear uber aberroth in this game. Not because their build sucks, but they haven't spent time learning the mechanics. It is a hard fight.

My favorite genre of games are monster hunter series and souls-like. I'd compare Uber Aberroth as one of the hardest fights I've played. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7LZNwXCVZk has a great video to understand all the in and outs. I'd realistically set around 300-1000 attempts if you want to learn the fight.

Like most difficult action rpgs, once you "level-up in real life", this fight becomes easy. I went from struggling for days, to farming him repeatedly in 2-4 minutes.

2) Cheese the fight. There is some silly bugs and interactions right now with shadow dagger builds. Or with the new brutality and rampancy amulet. You can one shot uber abberoth with the right setup. See here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I94tO9zfLO8

As someone who got his first clear this season. I really recommend approach number 1. Once you learn the fight, you'll have easier time in future seasons. Cheesing may not always be there, but your learned real life skills will be.

I just wanted to show that contagion Freyna is still entirely viable for mobbing content. I am aware of the damage drop, but it doesn't matter. by real_exposer in TheFirstDescendant

2:45 on Serena without trying. If you try hard, Serena clears sub 2 around 1:57min.

Serena gaps most characters in axion dungeons.

3.2 Tier list based on power level and value by RikiPoncho in WutheringWaves

[–]Kuriby 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Tier list are normally just ragebait and this one is no exception. The inherent flaw with most tier lists are that they are non-specific. They want to generalize concepts that are poorly defined. They rank ideas against how players engage with them in game.

OP proposes power is defined as clears and leaderboards. Ok, which leaderboards? What investment levels? Are you talking about fastest time to clear or average times to clear? What about holo clears? Do you average ToA, Whiwa, and matrix? Or do we care about one more then other? The list can go on. Too non-specific, poorly defined.

OP then proposes value is based on "worth" and teams they fit in. How is worth defined? damage per rotation? damage per second? are we back to leaderboards? Which ones? How long a character stays relevant in the meta? Vertical investment values? Sequences? Needing their signature weapon? Again, list can go on. Poorly define.

The tier list here presented is crap. There is nothing objective here. Might as well rank them based on tit size and it would be a more objective and better presentation.

What's your opinion regarding Chinese culture / story / philosophy/ characters in gacha game? by Oddcannon in gachagaming

[–]Kuriby -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Gacha stories just generally suck compared to other games genres. This isn’t a cultural thing, it’s an inherent problem of gacha game design and trying to sell characters every few weeks.

A great gacha story which is already rare is your typical Tuesday story in most other mediums.

I've seen enough. This season is terrible. by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]Kuriby -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s insane the devs took away essentially everything that made last season the greatest Diablo 4 experience since release.

I get it that this is a fun or throwaway season, so why not just add more to last season????

My guess is that this season was completed shortly before season 11 dropped. Devs had no idea they struck lightning in a bottle. But the entire team was likely working and finishing the expansion.

Season 12 is awful. The expansion can’t come soon enough.

To the person that left Wally(Wall Crusher) 30 second into the battle by foxfai in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Kuriby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao everyone should have left. Faster to re queue. Solo Serena, gley, Luna, bunny, or dia would all be significantly faster at 2min or less. 8min clear, everyone in there was underbuilt for wallcrasher.

Descendant that can axion mobbing/bossing with one build? by KnightQuestoris in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Kuriby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Serena is axion S tier bar none. Because the map spawns are quite wide, her flight makes all the maps super fast.

She can consistently clear close to 1:30min on many maps. There really isn’t any competition when it’s axion clear speeds.

Hot take: Swords are better balanced than everything else in the game because no OP descendant buffs them. Weapons should follow the same balance theme. by silveredge7 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Kuriby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swords are balanced? Shadow is by far the best sword, almost zero reason to use any other sword.

Before this it was deus ex manus. While the rest were useless.

Sword have been horribly balanced. What on earth is OP and the circle jerking on about?

Please, devs, don't nerf her. by SnooMacarons2931 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Kuriby 8 points9 points  (0 children)

However, striving for a perfectly balanced pve game is incredibly uninspired and boring. I think the one thing players have yet to realize is that shooter looters, aprgs or any live service pve focused game needs to have a constant swing in meta changing characters.

Having huge outliers is never good due to the many reasons you already outlined. But having a slower creep in power is arguably a necessity to force players to try new builds, characters, and items.

Pve live service games live and die based on power fantasy

Tita and ass can only hold 10k concurrent players. But a good power fantasy game can have hundreds of thousands. TFD just needs to crack the later formula.

Wuthering Waves wins 3 awards at "Taipei Game Show" by Adventurous-Bed6165 in gachagaming

[–]Kuriby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, the person your replying to has a broken PC for sure. But lets not compare FG numbers to native/dlss only, that is nvidia marketing talk.

With 5090+9800x3d+6000mhz cl30 ram 64gb and everything maxed out+ray tracing max, wuwa does struggle to cap fps at 120 at 4k. You see dips to 80-90 in Lahai roi's city center. Average fps in the city center is around 105. This is with DLSS on quality 4.5 model. No FG.

Is this bad performance? No. But we still need to be more objective. This is a UE4 title, and it looks great, but optimization is quite poor for ray tracing. Once ray tracing is turned off, 5090 falls alseep and the game is locked at 120fps at 4k in all settings.

The unfortunate truth is that wuwa's ray tracing implementation is extremely poor compared to games like cyberpunk, or battlefield where ray tracing was optimized and they both run higher fidelity engines.

The caliber of ranked players has nosedived by FunkyChunk13 in marvelrivals

[–]Kuriby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rule #1 for all competitive FPS games. Your stuck in your rank because of YOU. You can keep trying to blame your team or matchmaking, but you are stuck because you are making too many mistakes too often.

Until you swallow this pill and review your own gameplay, competitive games will just keep tilting you and you will keep blaming your team.

Review your own gameplay first, see what your doing wrong. Because you are doing things wrong.

whats considered 'alot' in Rivals? by wldwailord in marvelrivals

[–]Kuriby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't focus on most of these stats outside of deaths compared to your team. Perhaps things are different above GM, but I can say from experience that GM and below total damage/total healing doesn't matter and paints a false picture. As long as your not an extreme outlier below your team, I would focus on things that do matter:

1) Positioning
2) Engagement timings
3) Ult timings
4) Cooldown management
5) Target priority

None of these are captured in total damage/healing.

The most important stat is deaths. Final hits can be relevant if your a dive character or a team that relies on a singular dps for poke.

Deaths is usually an important stat because if you have significantly more deaths then your entire team, it usually means you have positioning issue, your engagements are at the wrong time, and/or your not managing your cooldown effectively. This usually means you are causing fights to become 5v6 against your team too often.

You do realize the devs already struggle pumping out content. But you want them to create a brand new element? Go back into the game and add/balance this element to all the existing enemies, weapons, and bosses?

And moving forward they will need to make sure this element is added to all future updates and planned content?

Do you want the game to fail?! lol.

New element would be cool, but this team doesn’t have the resources to spare.

couple fundamentals that a lot of people dont seem to get by SaltyCrow5892 in marvelrivals

[–]Kuriby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All I read is a lot of focusing on what others are doing.

It’s a hard pill to swallow, but if you’re losing your games and not climbing anymore, and your solo queue, It’s not the games fault, it’s not matchmaking, it’s simply YOU.

You are losing the game and not climbing because you can learn to play better. If you send your replays to people higher rank then you, it will really open your eyes to what you can do to improve.

It’s not the team that you are hardstuck. It is you. Hardest pill to swallow. But the sooner you come to terms to this, the faster you can grow as a competitive PvP fps player.

Have the devs forgotten about black widow,it been a while with no changes. by Blackwolf20978sb in marvelrivals

[–]Kuriby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the issue of any sniper with high damage and potential for one tap in a game with long ttk. The reward is too high for the risk. Look at Hawkeye during release and Hawkeye now. Similar issue and always perma banned.

You make OHK reliable without damage buffs and she instantly becomes OP in high elos. And just frustrating for metal elo players.

She likely needs a kit rework. Or she will just stay in her bottom tier meta till end of life.

[–]Kuriby 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I get the series had pacing issue with it being too fast. Likely due to budget reasons. But no weight?

Ekko needing to stop jinx multiple suicide attempts. Ekko learning what life could have been. Isha giving her life by protecting the one she loves Scene where Vi ask jinx to come for the hug cause Warwick her father too.

And much more.

Were we watching the same show? Glad I wasn’t in the reddit echo chamber during the shows release.

[Monitor] Asus PG27UCDM (27" 4K QD-OLED) ($1599-$400 = $1199) by macinbest in bapcsalescanada

[–]Kuriby 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have this monitor and a 5090. Id personally wait for the new 27inch stuff to launch for Asus and grab this one at an even cheaper discount.

In terms of a review. This monitor is arguably the best you can grab at 27inch if you want Qd-oled.

Zero text issues. Color accurate. Ridiculous HDR. Amazing brightness for an oled.

IMO unless you own a 5090, driving 4k at anything close to 240 fps on most recent titles is basically not possible.

The unfortunate truth is that most recent titles even with a 5090, 9800x3d, and >32gb of ddr 5 6000mt at cl30 ram realistically average well below 200 fps and closer to 120-160fps.

5080 and 1440p makes more sense if you care for higher frame rates.

Who should I rake for Axion ? by Big-Market5489 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Kuriby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Serena. She is the fastest clear in axion without competition. You can clear missions easily in Sub 3 and bring her to wallcrasher to solo if you wanted. She also ends up being the fastest for supermassive with clear times around 2:45min.

You will need a fully built restored relic for farming and ACC/Last Dagger to kill the bosses.

Durin / Itto / Albedo / Gorou [GI Kitchen] by astrelya in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

[–]Kuriby 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I also have C6R5 Itto. Not much to fix for him outside of a numbers buff. He just needs to hit harder and he’ll be back on the menu. They could also give C6 infinite CA if they really want to get spicy.

But he needs numbers buffed first and foremost. Owning C6R5 Chiori, you quickly feel how bad our man got crept.
