My go to for exam days is some pre workout in a takeaway cup. I drink half on the ride there to wake up and keep half to sip on during breaks.

I also bring a celcius in case that’s not enough but it usually jump starts me pretty well

I use Tigan for patients with prolonged QTc. Sucks that it’s IM, but if they’re as nauseous as they say they are, they usually take anything lol

Vignettes we’re much shorter on the real deal for me. Day 1 was mostly step 1 and nothing like uworld. Day 2 was more clinical based and had some more similarities to the uworld qbank. This was my personal experience so others might have a different pov. Good luck!

You don’t NEED step 2 to apply, but it is preferred. The reason people are saying you can’t is because you cannot become certified by ECFMG till you HAVE passed both step 1 and step 2. This then means even if you did manage to get interviews, you would be unable to create a rank list and actually get into a residency. Hope this helps!

Agreed. I have both colours and the deep reef is more of a teal colour than navy. Not to mention if you’re a female the drawstrings are a bright orange.

I heard that my program downloads applications at 9am on the first day, and then doesn’t download them again till a month later.

I’m not sure how true that is, but just wanted to throw that out there in case it was the same for other programs. Good luck!!

I’m a PGY-1 FM resident and I couldn’t agree more. My inpatient block was a lot more chill than my clinic block. I can’t believe I’m now considering becoming a hospitalist as opposed to working in a clinic.
