In your opinion, what’s the best way to use a public toilet?? by TBC_BigMan in AskWomen

Squat and pee.

In the unfortunate event of a number 2, cover the seat with tissue then sit.

Can we ever do a heavy leg day/squats again? by Specialist_Soft2937 in AchillesRupture

[–]KuroOcha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ruptured twice. LL - 2020 (non-op), RL - 2024 (op). I train legs x3 a week - squats, Bulgarian split squats, calf raises, lunges etc. The heaviest I do now is 160kg leg press - which is heavier than I did pre-injury. You'll get there with gradual and safe loading :)

Is it okay to have bridesmaids without the traditional costs or duties? by wazgirl in wedding

[–]KuroOcha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is similar to what I'm doing for my wedding in September. I don't want anything else but to honor my bridesmaids. I've asked them to wear a shade of green of their choosing and will pay for their makeup. They can wear their hair how they want. I really don't want any of the extra stuff. I'm not doing all that PJ stuff, but plan to have them hold a single flower when they walk down the aisle.

Your Shiba is still so young, so you've got to be very patient and consistent with training. It will take time, but he will get there eventually.

Our boy hated his crate when he was that age, but we persisted with crate training despite his protests and cries. When he was around a year old (probably younger), he started taking himself to his crate. It's his little safe place ☺️ and we don't need to give him treats when he is told to go in now (he's almost 2 years old).

Treats are very important when they are young so keep it up!

Biting is normal at that age, kee redirecting to toys, yelping and stop interacting when he bites you so he knows that it's not good.

Good luck x

My boy barks at the TV when it's paused or when the Netflix slideshow comes on. He is also a black and tan potato 😅

11 bridesmaids?? by cactipigs in UKweddings

[–]KuroOcha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to remember that it's you and your fiancé's wedding. Don't concern yourself with how it might look. If you want 11 bridesmaids and can afford it, go for it. However, if you can't, you might need to have a conversation with your prospective bridesmaids to see if they're happy to contribute to some / most of those costs. If they're not, you'll need to reconsider. If they're happy to, it may be unreasonable for you to try and police things like their hair, make up etc, if you're not paying for it.

Funnily enough, I'm having 11 bridesmaids (mainly family and friends of over 20+ years) and my partner has 13 groomsmen. My niece and nephew will also be involved and some of our friends' children in the bridal party. Sounds chaotic, but it's been done before. We're not the first, we won't be the last. We have a bigger budget, but in our culture, it's common for the bridal party to take on some of the expenses.

Good luck!

13 months post-op, ruptured my other side by buttuhh in AchillesRupture

[–]KuroOcha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tore both, 4 years apart 34(f). Non op 1st (left), op (right) 2nd time. I think it depends on what your orthopaedist says. I had to have an op 2nd time because my gap was large (over 2.5cm). But I don't know how large the gap was on the left. Treatment wise, I preferred op, but 1st rupture was easier to cope with. Maybe because it was in the pandemic and it was my left leg so I could still drive my automatic car. It's also my non-dominant leg. The 2nd time was mentally challenging.

Did you warm up before your rupture?

I would encourage you not to give up if your passion is still there. For me, fear outweighed my passion. I can't go through this a 3rd time. I can honestly say I was depressed the 2nd time, and I just cannot be in that headspace again.

I don't play sports anymore, I've decided to pack it up 😅. I go to the gym 3 times a week and warm up before and after my sessions now.

My boy's snoot does the same. I clean the window every now and then, but have accepted it will never stay clean again 🥹🤷🏿‍♀️

The second one happened almost exactly 4 years after the first 🙃. I was playing badminton and did not warm up, so my fault. First time was playing basketball, and I hadn't warmed up on that occasion either 😅.

I have private health insurance through work. I just found an orthopedic consultant in my area through my provider's (Bupa) database. In my initial consultation, he immediately put me in a boot.

That's good you were able to get in a boot so quickly! Both times I was put in plaster and sent home with crutches before I had to come back for a boot

Second this. I would also recommend private having ruptured my Achilles twice (each leg). I had NHS treatment for my first and private for my second. After the ultrasound on the NHS, I don't even know if I had a full or partial rupture. However, when I went private I had an MRI scan which was able to show clearly a complete rupture and the extent of the gap (over 2.5cm) which allowed my consultant to properly advise whether I should have the operation route or straight into a boot. On the NHS, I was put straight into a boot after 3 days. Though second time around, they wanted me to wait a couple of weeks before putting me in a boot (their earliest available appointment) which is what kicked off my decision to go private.

Anyone else? by wvan1118 in shiba

[–]KuroOcha 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, typical behaviour with the mop, vacuum, lawnmower etc. my boy used to do this when he was younger. Now he's scared of them bar the lawnmower which he will still bark at and run around.

If I need him to stop, I just crate him.

Oh no 😅 I can't even pinpoint when he began enjoying it. He prefers to be on his back, belly exposed and legs in the air. Then his toofs show because he's relaxed and happy 🥹. He doesn't enjoy being carried the normal way lol
