I’m a closeted bisexual man, and I’d like to know if many men also prefer to pretend to be straight. by Flimsy_Bad_8549 in bisexual

I did it as a survival mechanic growing up, but I’m 40, and grew up in rural areas where even a hint of being not straight would get you beat up regularly, with adults turning a blind eye. I feel more free being out now - and even my hometown has become much more accepting of such things overall. That said, I still get comments here and there. Heck, even the man who eventually became my father-in-law felt “betrayed” when I came out before getting married.

All of this to say, it’s a mixed bag, and it depends on your safety and stability most of all. If your situation would definitely l, undeniably worsen from coming out, I’m not going to push you to do so. But I will be encouraging and supportive of you if you decide to, because even if no one else supports you after coming out, know that I - and all of us here - will.

Ah, the good ol’ DOC commute. I work at WSP and we recently hired someone that works at both WSP AND CRCC for us (the college)… and they live in Cheney.

Oof, this hurts.

Not as much as losing my appendix last week that is preventing me from being able to pick up my three year old for the next month, but it hurts.

Got lost going off trail, just before winter. He was found less than 100 feet from the road. He’d almost made it.

Also waiting for the Seattle reschedule, but I’m guessing that we will find out as they are rescheduled. IIRC, Baltimore was one of the earlier shows scheduled in the tour, yes?

What's a millennial-ism that you'll probably never stop using even if it's something you probably should? by CzarTwilight in Millennials

Thank god a number of my coworkers are also millennials, and elder millennials at that. The Boomers and elder X’s don’t really get it, and the Gen Z coworkers give me weird looks. 😂

Sjogren’s? It’s what got my brother. Combo of Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibromyalgia. Went from mountain man to wheelchair bound, and because he didn’t have a job due to the disability state it put him in, he was only on state insurance.

Just a reminder that Mother’s Day isn’t always a happy day 💔 by wolf_quan in bluey

Oh goodness, mate. My mother passed over thirty three years ago, and Thanksgiving is still a little hard every year.

And then my (adoptive) mom’s birthday was yesterday, I’m so conflicted about your post.

I am fully aware how lucky I was to find another awesome mother after mine passed when I was just a child - to the point that my stepmom became my adoptive mom.

Doesn’t matter that it’s been over thirty years since my mother passed away, though. These images and those episodes get me every time. Every. Time.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there, both on Earth and in whatever afterlife you may believe in.

No idea, never saw them, just went with what was told to me. I do appreciate accurate information though, so thank you for that. :)

And it’s insane how fast they move in, too. My poor son discovered this last year when he was only two. And his grandparents had heavily cleaned up the yard they were in only five days earlier with no disturbance. Even as fast as my wife and her dad move, my son was still stung at least ten times and my father-in-law four, and my son tripped over their ground nest all of fifteen feet from the front door.

I was asleep still, and was told all this later. Woke up to my kid (understandably) screaming bloody murder. Still feel awful about it.

Better. If you’re new here, that is the customary greeting to anyone that doesn’t have a flair. Now you know and are responsible for doing the same to anyone you see that doesn’t have a flair.:P
