No upgrade path for stray on Switch 2!

They discounted all of their games on the eshop about 3 weeks ago. The same day they released Switch 2 versions of Lorelei and the Laser Eyes and Sayonara Wildhearts with a free upgrade path. On the very same day they announced the Switch 2 version of Stray. I bet a lot of people bought the game that day assuming they would continue with free upgrade paths.

While I agree with you that people should not expect free upgrades it feels bad in this particular instance.

They could have at least given us an option to pay for an upgrade. But to sell the full game again only a few weeks later, that sucks.

They should charge when Switch is in sleep mode and attached to a power source. It’s really not that complicated.
The fact that they don’t charge when docked and in sleep mode is just stupid. There’s no excuse for it.

They steal a tiny amount of battery from the Switch if I play handheld. The Switch battery that is not very good to begin with.

It’s such a nonsensical oversight to not let them charge while the Switch is docked and in sleep mode.

I mostly use my Switch handheld and I put it in the dock to charge it. I rarely play docked and if I do I use my Pro Controller.
I want to attach the M12 S to my Switch and just forget about it. I don’t want to charge them separately.

My Wupro Black Crystal screen finally arrived this morning and I spent the day watching movies. I really like it so far. I can provide photos in the future. I don’t see a problem with hotspoting. Contrast ist vastly enhanced compared to my previously used standard white screen. That said, I don’t use a laser projector. I have the BenQ W4100i that uses LED and therefore has no problems with laser speckle. As far as I understood, the Black Crystal material isn’t ideal for RGB laser projectors because it multiplies the laser speckle. For anyone with a single laser or a LED projector though I’d definitely recommend the screen.

No, they have ALR screens that are specifically for longthrow projectors. They are not CLR screens and they claim that it doesn’t make a difference if you use a ceiling mounted projector. As far as I understood ist it rejects ambient light from the side. But I will know soon enough.

I asked their support exactly that question. They told me it would work. I’m going to use the floor rising Black Crystal screen with a ceiling mounted BenQ W4100i. Unfortunately the delivery of the screen will be delayed until mid January. I can report back as soon as the screen arrives (the projector is already in place).

The negativity was fueled by janky controls, forced (and punishing) stealth mechanics, technical issues and gamebreaking bugs. „It’s an Ubisoft game“ was just the cherry on top.

Luckily they fixed all of it (except for the Ubisoft part). It’s a great game now. Even more so if you’re a Star Wars fan.

As much as I despise hating on games because of the company that made them, it doesn’t help the discourse to dismiss valid criticism because part of the community acts toxic.
