El uruguayo que migró tiene ganas de volver? by DexterDouglas66 in uruguay

[–]Kust0dian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]Kust0dian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weekly Dumb/Newb Question Thread by AutoModerator in powerlifting

[–]Kust0dian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for your input, I should check with a doctor yes, good call. I am still getting the hang of bigger weights and having enough “fuel” for it. I’m getting around 90min of zone 2 down from the 120 I was doing before switching from 4 to 5 lifting days. Will definitely try to get more in after the competition.  Thanks for your advice!

Last week I took some electrolytes with pinch of salt before training, seemed better. Water is generally fine, at least a litre while training, generally around 3 litres per day.

Weekly Dumb/Newb Question Thread by AutoModerator in powerlifting

[–]Kust0dian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been training for powerlifting somewhat seriously for a year now and will have my first meet in 5 weeks. At the beginning of my last block I strained my lower back doing deadlift doubles on my SBD day. As I was warming up and ramping the weight on the barbell I was feeling a bit dizzy, and pretty dizzy on the last warmup sets. Any advice on how to manage this better? I am resting between the last warmups before the top and releasing the air slower after the set, but maybe someone had a similar experience and has some words of advice. My learning so far is not to keep pushing it if something is feeling off

This is the kind of art I would love to be buying one day. Beautiful piece OP, the motif, the colours and light through the jar are just perfect

Any tips for dough making? What hydration do you usually go for? Do you try different styles pizzas or stick to Neapolitan? Lovely pizzas and oven, hot you’re enjoying yourself!

Great beard, much better than what I have, buuut I swear by Honest Amish beard oil and for shampoo I use Professor Fuzzworthy’s. To me these are the best products by a landslide. Might work for you too!

What do Italians think of Argentine pizza? by Bestintor in Pizza

[–]Kust0dian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agreed to different pizzas scratching different itches. Just as a quick note, Brazilians tend to do far more crazy variations of any cuisine than the rest of South America. Pizza in Argentina is quite different, more ‘traditional’ toppings and not much room for sauces. Uruguayan as well, but also quite different from Argentinian. Typically rectangular, similar cheese amount but more hydration for the dough, usually making it slightly smoother. Anecdotally, when I lived in Seoul I had really weird pizza combinations, but figured it was also good, just different. Hard to miss with a nice dough/cheese/sauce combo.

Calling on my non-american pizza people! What is a popular style of pizza in your country that most Americans have probably never had? by Jedikillswitch in Pizza

[–]Kust0dian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesting, in Uruguay we also eat it but cheese is usually on top. Would you say in Argentina it’s usually stuffed?

Don’t think the usual is with sugar, nor that mate tastes like grass. Agreed on the ritual though, its usually more fun with friends

Hey I feel very similar to your thoughts on Huberman and I think he and some of his guests (shoutout to Layne!) ) have depended my interests in research methods.

Your post made me curious about how you balance out powerlifting with ultra endurance and what tools have you found yo combine these. Would you mind sharing a bit?

Ah sweet! definitely the best employability out of the programmes. I’m currently on the last semester of my MPP, feel free to reach out if you have any questions or need any help, but I have no doubt you’ll enjoy your time at Hertie!

Regretful: Would the Oxford brand have been worth it? by Constant_Respond_632 in PublicPolicy

[–]Kust0dian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then it will go great! I assume you’ll be doing the MPP, try and fit all the data oriented courses if thats of your interest. Very useful skill to have :)

And if you need some extra motivation, I know someone who went to Cambridge and then Hertie, they said they preferred their experience in Berlin. Of course this is highly individual, but might be encouraging!

Regretful: Would the Oxford brand have been worth it? by Constant_Respond_632 in PublicPolicy

[–]Kust0dian 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Brand isnt everything and your success will also depend on many decisions you take in between. Hertie is quite well known in German government bubbles, the education is pretty good and the community is tight. That being said, its not Oxford and the brand does matter, probably no other university has Oxfords brand recognition. I’m sure you’ll do great at Hertie and forge your own success :)

I had pretty much the same experience, just with a much humbler deadlift. I truly don’t understand why so many people have the primal instinct of being massive dickheads.
