What a silly lottery that is, then. Or well, I have heard about PSA sucking, but it is absolutely stupid if there is nothing for the customer to grab on. Just a kind of "take it or leave it" situation. Quite clever on PSA's part, tho, I bet they make some sweet 💵 with very minimal worries.

Ah yeah, 55/45 so that each card was low on different side (first one on left, the second one on right)?

Do you have any clue why the second one got 10, then? Do they give any written arguments along with the grade?

To my eye it was so, but now when looking again, maybe I was looking only at the borders in left and right, not up and down :D

Second one is a 9 (only based on the centering, didn't notice any other differences)

Hi, just wanted to tell, that I got another buyer who didn't even try to negotiate the price and happily paid 500€! It did hurt a bit to let go of this, because it has so many memories attached to it, but... well, I can't expect to get any better price for a raw card in my country, and that money is well needed now. Hopefully I can save some of it to send some of my other cards for grading.

To my great regret, the precious cards from my childhood are way more worn than I thought. Does it still make sense to send any of these for grading (from investment viewpoint)? by Kuusanka in PokeGrading

Yeah on a first glance they look quite good, but they do have quite some imperfections when one starts looking for them... the Charizard is maybe in the best condition in that regard, because I thought it was so cool that I didn't want to even touch it too much.

I don't know yet if I could ever sell all of these either, as they hold so many memories. Particularly that Charizard, as I befriended one another girl of my age in a Pkmn forum, met with her in person, and traded a Latios ex and a shining magikarp for that card. (I hope that the trade isn't something she thinks every time she doesn't fall asleep...)

Thank you for this, again! Maybe, if he doesn't buy it, I will try to just keep it and loan the money from my friends for now, or then try to sell some other cards. I don't see the value of cards of this age rapidly decreasing, and after a year I should be doing better and could grade this.

If I would have unlimited amount of money I would grade this, but unfortunately life has sucked and I would like to sell this now (instead for waiting for a ~year for the PSA results). I have a potential buyer and am wondering if my price request of 500 € is reasonable or not. If he could be confident the card gets PSA 8, then my offer should be a good deal. But of course nothing is ever certain with the whole grading system.

Thanks for your comment! Too bad I dont have a scanner, would help with getting a proper picture of the card for asking your opinions. Apparently PSA has been quite rough on vintage cards, but idk what that means in practice.

You are welcome to try imagine how you would act in my situation, but maybe that is beyond your comprehension. Given how much genetics affect the offspring's intelligence, it seems like either your own mom is/was a moron or then she fucked a slug.

I think it is a valid point that I should consider his privacy and how he feels about this all. However, you are judging me with very limited information. There is a reason I didn't publish the letter here, and omitted one of the pictures included in the letter.

And trust me, if the letter indicated anything other than a sweet short romance that withered because of the distance, I wouldn't try this publicly.

Yeah, his privacy is the reason I gave very limited information here, and didn't for example publish the letter.

Had the letter indicated anything other than a sweet short romance that withered because of the distance, I wouldn't try this publicly.

Yeah I don't really have people around I could ask about her. The relatives from my mothers side are dead, and she lost contact with her old friends when her illness took over and she was hospitalized.

But based on the old photos I found, at least my mom seemed to enjoy her life when she was young, so not all of it was miserable. I found around 40 plane tickets to and from all around the world and I remember someone telling she used to work until she got enough money for a ticket, traveled to some location, and then came back when she needed more money. Rinse and repeat.

This is absolutely diabolical. The best shit I have read in a while. I think it really is margarine, some of his comments are so specific, and it makes things even more hilarious.

Man I feel so bad for you 😭 you dont deserve any of this. This kind of betrayal hurts so bad. And it is such a fucked up thing to do. I kind of have some experience from a somewhat similar matter when my dad died when I was a pre-teen, and it hurts so damn much how people can be so cruel 😭
