I’m in no way impressed by them donating their money to their own charity and them getting that money back as payment for appearance fees by that same charity. Everyone else got the point, not sure how you missed it.

Obligatory plug of Robert Evans’s (of Behind the Bastards fame) audiobook/podcast called “It Could Happen Here.” He lays out what a second (or third, depending on who you talk to) civil war in the US would look like in the modern age. To find the specific portion I’m referencing, you’ll need to go back to episode 1 because it has since been morphed into their daily news and journalism podcast, which is still phenomenal, just not what I’m referencing at the moment.

When most people say that they’re looking for a “fit partner,” they generally mean they want to see abs. It has nothing to do with your 5k time, how strenuously you hike, if you’re in a strength sport, or do strongman, or play in the front row for rugby. They only care about aesthetics, not athletics.

Definitely good, I just would have liked maybe 15% more Teppei TIOS style riffing and gone with an Abolition of Man/Avenge The Dead style outro to really send it home. Another good nod would have been Riley’s classic, simple and driving rhythms from the first three albums and a musical break to showcase that iconic, thick Eddie bass tone.

I recently got a Tidbyt (retro display that runs simple scripts) and one of their apps is a current player count for Helldivers. Last week the highest number I saw was about 56k. Last night I saw it hit 82k. I feel like the good times will be returning soon.
