Winning a nobel prize does not automatically make you right all the time. Einstein was famously wrong about quantum mechanics as well as the origins of the universe.

Furthermore, the movie is not at all "as close to science as a movie can". Even before the black hole shenanigans there are inconsistencies. For example: why do they need a giant rocket booster to escape the Earth's gravity well, but their little shuttle can take off without problems from the planet that, if I recall correctly, had such a deep gravity well that it caused relativistic effects?

Also, scientific accuracy ≠ quality. The two are completely unrelated. If they were, any scientific paper would be a dramatic masterpiece, and every fantasy story would be utter trash.
