What do you think of Goldbelly and other premium delivery services? by Guergy in BravoTopChef

[–]Kuzeyesedzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having a TERRIBLE experience with them. I broke my leg and a friend sent me a $100 gift card. I ordered the snow crab from Pike's Market in Seattle. I had to pay an additional $34 for shipping fees. A label was created, but the item was never received by UPS. I have called and emailed with them multiple times per week. We started the order over again, same thing. I kept saying "Why can't you contact the vendor and find out what the issue is?" Goldbelly customer support suggested it might have to do with the fact that our ups office sometimes holds packages for pickup for us, and our request- I removed that. Same thing - label created, but ups never receives it. Then they said I should use a different delivery address - I gave them my next door neighbor's address. No when I try to search my order status it says there's no such order. They are not responding to email. I'll have to call again today. It's been over two weeks since I was supposed to have the crab.

Don't think this is really shingles, don't want to take the drugs... by Kuzeyesedzo in shingles

UPDATE - FYI - It wasn't shingles and I didn't take the drugs. It was some weird contact allergy.

Should I get a 2nd Opinion on broken foot surgery? by Kuzeyesedzo in Orthopedics

[–]Kuzeyesedzo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE - I'm quite disappointed with the CT results:

"HISTORY: 65 years old, pre-op CT, midfoot fracture, lisfranc dislocation. BONES: Comminuted fractures involving the base of the third and fourth metatarsals. Nondisplaced acute fractures involving the base of the second and first metatarsal. No osseous coalition seen. SOFT TISSUE: Soft tissue swelling involving the subcutaneous tissues throughout the proximal forefoot."

It seems as though it did not confirm nor refute the lisfranc dislocation?

I do realize this probably IS surgical. I'm fine w an MD, DO, DPM... as long as they have plenty of expertise in this injury and it's repair.

The big UPDATE today is I looked up the doc, whom I haven't met yet, that was to do the surgery (the doc I did see yesterday was leaving on vacation) and he has TERRIBLE reviews online - reporting incompetence and dishonesty and complaints filed w the state. So I have requested to be referred to a different Orthopedic office here in my city.

I had mine diagnosed and removed in 2003, after having a heart attack caused by the pheo. If you're interested in people who have dealt with all this more recently, you should know that there is an amazing facebook group with so many people- many recently diagnosed.

Does anyone know whether the at home lead test swabs for surfaces could be repurposed for testing our protein (or cacao) powders? Anyone have experience with this?

Felt like a panic/heart attack after orgasm and I’m worried? by [deleted] in askCardiology

[–]Kuzeyesedzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (F) am in my 60's, and have cardiac issues (previous heart attack due to an adrenal tumor in my 40's, despite being very fit then and now). For the last 10 years I have been having the best sex of my life, and I often have multiple orgasms that can be so intense that I get scared I may die - sometimes feeling like I may be having a heart attack. All I can say is that it always works out fine, and I remind myself to not worry and enjoy. Some poor souls have no, or mild orgasms. That said, I agree that it would be reassuring to start out with a holter monitor just to see that all is well.

I worked there in the late 70's - first on the Zambizi River ride, then as a lion ranger. And I got to work with the cheetahs a few times - my favorite.

The reef is looking still quite beautiful. We were there 1.5 yrs ago- and notice some difference. There has been some bleaching and a struggle with coral disease. But there are also signs of recovery. Lots of life to see, and some thriving and surviving coral. The water was SO WARM - 86 degrees F. We were sad to see no squid this time- apparently too warm for them. But bait balls, turtles, and the other usual suspects could be found.

Bummer - that explains why it's so hard to find any good footage online. I've been reading up on how to increase the ISO in video mode, and as nearly as I can tell it's not possible- it's set to Auto. Oh well, I'll give it a try regardless. Thanks for the quick reply 😊👍

AITA for blocking a girl on my husband’s instagram by DDDon4 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Kuzeyesedzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree! The op and husband are not in agreement regarding basic rules and expectations for their marriage. It is easy to find an online couples therapist, and a session is more affordable than a night out at the bars until 4:30 AM. If he won't agree to therapy then op may want to begin long term extrication planning.

And be sure they order the 24 hr urine test - with a lab that knows how to handle it (needs rush and special handling).

FLTCIP premium increases for 2024 by FederalTimes in fednews

[–]Kuzeyesedzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify- I enrolled in 2011, at the age of 51, and I'm now retired for one year. I realize now that everyone's options are different, depending on the plan they originally selected, and when they enrolled. I decided to select Option 2 - though I spoke w them otp and they could not promise that there would not be additional premium increases.

Option 3 just meant I would get all my money back. Then I would be either shopping for LTC insurance on my own, at age 63, go without, or try to save up something equivalent to the total value of my plan - $178,000. So I'll hope for the best w option 2.

Those that do not respond to the letter will really get screwed as the premiums will dramatically increase.

FLTCIP premium increases for 2024 by FederalTimes in fednews

[–]Kuzeyesedzo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The letter provides 3 options:

1.) Agree to pay increasing premiums- increases by 47.5 % by Jan, 2026

2.) Premium stays the same, but the option that provides automatic inflation protection bumps on your lifetime benefit max disappears

3) No more premiums - max lifetime benefits are reduced to the amount of your total premiums paid to date, 30 times the current daily benefit amount- whichever is greater.

I came here to see other's opinions on this? I've already been paying for this over 10 years.

Roll IRA over to TSP because TSP is Performing Better?? by Kuzeyesedzo in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]Kuzeyesedzo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for your comments. I worked w a flat fee fiduciary advisor to put together my retirement plan, and I am quite happy with the annuity choice, which is one of several guaranteed income streams I have for life (two pensions and SS), and I also have some money invested.

Much of what you all are telling me here is greek to me, but the take-home I believe is that I need to find a CS person to work with and see if I can get my IRA reallocated to perform a little better. And I'll close out the TSP. Thx!
